Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Postby Aaron » Tue Mar 13, 2007 12:10 pm

I'm setting here watch the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show wondering what the HELL the criteria is for getting in? There are bands like Journey getting snubbed while I'm hearing Patty Smith whaling like a fuckin black and tan coon dog on a Stones tune. WTF is up with that? Damn, I just don't get it. At least Van Halen is getting the nod this year. JESUS!

Watching the show, the singer for Velvet Revolver is as weird as they come. Looks like a cross between Billy Idol and Mick Jagger.

Hagar still ROCKS! If he wasn't on my top 5 vocalist list, my apologies go out to Sammy. He's a great vocalist and an underrated guitar player as well.

Dean - let go of it! Any artist that have been around 30 years + does NOT suck. You may not like them because Neal and Steve were not part of their line-ups, but they do not suck.

My thoughts on VH's induction...

Shame on you Eddie, Alex and Dave for not showing up, for whatever reason(s).

Sammy & Mike, you guys rock and deserve much better.

Weiland, you are the worst singer in rock and roll and you proved it tonight once again.

Paul Shaffer's bass player, your vocal harmonies blew chunks and threw Mike and Sammy off-key. You shouldn't have been onstage anyway.

Paul Shaffer's guitarist, you stink at playing Van Halen songs. Any dime-a-dozen local cover band guitarist could have played better.

One of the most lackluster inductions/performances in RRHOF history. Sad.

I like Scott Weiland. I don't think he's all that great at singing other people's songs (the covers that cropped up on Velvet Revolver b-sides in 2004-05 weren't particularly impressive) but I liked a lot of the Stone Temple Pilots stuff since I grew up with their first few albums, and I liked the VR album enough.

I watched the VH induction with my daughter who is also a big fan. How depressing was that! Why the heck weren't Alex & DLR there at least? Sammy Hagar showed again that he is one of the classiest guys in rock n' roll. I couldn't love him anymore.

From what I've read, Dave wanted to sing "Jump", but the RRHOF told him he could only do "You Really Got Me" - and Dave didnt want to do a Kinks cover, so he refused to show up.

I think Dave knew better than to perform with that "band". That was the WORST cover of ANY rock song I've heard since my high school band massacred "Tom Sawyer" in 1987. And anyone who likes Stone Temple Pilots needs to have his or her hearing checked and is a traitor besides. That repulsive grunge s**t ruined, and I meaned RUINED melodic rock permanently. Weiland is a heroin addict who sounds like Eddie Vedder on speed. Please.

Never fear, you didn't miss it... Here's the schedule. It looks like the first repeat is Friday.

I'm happy Sammy and Anthony played! I thought Velvet Revolver was terrible, and massacred the song.

No I wasn't.

I am NOT letting go of anything, Andrew. You are making me feel like I am an obsessed Journey fan or some shit. So let me ask you Andrew and anyone else for that matter.

How in the Hell is Journey NOT in the Hall of Fame? You can't answer that without spinning, lying or both.

SNORT!! Okay you just made me spit my coffee!!!

I see why Dave and Ed didn't go (at least they explained themselves, even if they were lame excuse(s)) but I dont' get why Alex didn't show.
