We can rag on Velvet Revolver till the cows come home. The fact remains, however, if ALL members of Van Halen had stepped up to the plate and done the right thing, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Van Halen disgraced themselves - they didn't need any help from VR.

Dave wanted to perform Jump. VR told Dave they wouldn't do Jump. Who are they to say what song to perform? If VR ever got inducted how would they like it if they had some new band telling them what to perform? Dave is right, the only reaon VR was picked to induct VH is because they have a new album coming out. It's all politics. What record label is VR on?

It's over a done with now and I will never go to that museum again unless they have a big Van Halen display someday. Even then I don't know if I will go.

I don't agree with that statement at all in the context it's written. Ed's in rehab, Al's probably providing moral support, and Dave got the shaft from the RRHOF. Bad timing? Yes. Unwise lifestyle choice by Ed? Probably. Did Velvet Revolver disgrace Van Halen? Absolutely!

I respect your right to disagree. Does anyone know for a fact that he has entered rehab? If he has, then I wish him all the best. If he hasn't, then I feel the fans are being fed another line of crap.

The only confirmation that I have heard that he is actually in rehab is when MA said "God bless Edward Van Halen. He's at home getting some help" in his HOF speech. Who knows.

Still though,Dave wanted to perform and he should have been able to perform whatever he wanted to. Not what VR wanted him to perform.

Diamond Dave knew EXACTLY what he was doing - he didn't get to choose his own axeman, and he would have had to use the house "band". Good move, DD. We'll see ya on the road later this year. It's gonna happen.

Velvet Revolver.

Velvet fuckin REVOLVER is pulling a diva act on the night of Van Halen's induction?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Does Weiland know ONE goddamn thing about VH history and the catalogue? From the snide remark about "we don't have keyboards in this band" I get the feeling he was 1) mocking bands that do and 2) intimating that VH songs are keyboard heavy. In reality they were few and far between on VH records and Jump happens to be a timeless keyboard part, NEVER laughed at. When I think of VH and keys I think of like Jump and When It's Love and that's about it.

I like Stone Temple Pilots but Weiland, you are a horse's ASS.

Dave's been taking several forms of martial arts for 35 years. Weiland has done exactly six pushups since 1984. I don't think the Diamond would have too much of a problem taking out Scottie W. One of the pre-requisites for the Ultimate Fighting match would be that Heroin-boy would have to wear that fruity, body-tight Boy George / Bert from Sesame Street shirt. I'd pay serious dough for that even though it'd be over in about 35 seconds, ala Mike Tyson in the late 80's.

Once they spring Edward I think we expect this thing to go full blast late summer/early fall.
Alcoholism is not a week of inpatient treatment and you're cured. If he's doing it right, he's looking at MAJOR hard time.

Van Halen will tour this year.

The Diamond will tour with Edward & Alexander this year, I agree. Let's just hope Mikey's along for the ride, or the shows will have to all be on the weekends at 4:00 so Wolfie can have his milk and honey and meet his 9:00 curfew.

The thing is, if he's doing something on "VH" III, I'm worried he might get mixed up and throw in the "Barney" theme song and screw the whole thing up.

I think of the old acoustic keyboard in songs like 'Right Now' and 'Not Enough' (and sometimes 'How Many Say I' ).

I recorded it and finally watched it last night. The best part was Sammy and MA backstage afterward. I know it's already been discussed here, but it pumps me up when I hear Sammy say that VH needs to tour with Roth, and that if they really wanted to do it right, all five of them should be there. If Eddie could open his eyes, he would see that a tour with Roth and Hagar, each singer doing a set, would be MONSTROUS. Life is too short, and Sammy is right - live it up! Drop all of the petty shit and have a great time playing music and making loads of dough.

Now that is one concert that I would gladly pay to attend. Hopefully Eddie will come out of rehab with a new lease on life and a clear mind.

But would Sam do a tour without Michael Anthony? It doesn't sound like Ed wants to play with MA again especially when he can play with Wolfie.

Someone asked MA about that at the HOF thing, and he said he is a "never say never guy" and he is ready to play.

Fuck Wolfie. No one gives a shit about him. Wake up, Ed.

Of course MA would do a tour with VH. But Ed wants to play with his son so I don't see MA back in VH anytime soon. I don't see Dave agreeing to a VH tour with Sam either. That would be like Steve Perry agreeing to tour with Journey and Steve Augeri.

A lot of people say that Dave is in this for money but I don't believe that. He was offered to tour with VH in 2004 with Sam and he turned them down. Dave hasn't sold out.

That was when he was under the influence of Smoking Loon wine and who knows what else. We'll see if he snaps back to reality after rehab.

Apparently it was Wolfie who got the guys revitalized over the old material.
