"Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" was my entrance music in a backyard wrestling federation for a year.

....Then I got TBF, heard "One More," and got a new one.

I have to admit I hate Styx too, but I won't bash the people that like them. The same goes for REBlow Suckwagon....I think in all fairness, the reason I hate these bands is because Journey is put in the same category as these pop cheeseheads. Journey came out of Santana, Journey has roots....these other bands have none. The fact that they sucked their names onto the Journey name is the reason Journey has never gotten the respect they deserved IMO.

It's a comedy classic!

Neal can be quoted as saying that "When You Love A Woman" was the first video they spent over $5 dollars on, and looking at their previous attempts, I can believe that. Clearly all $5 of those dollars went toward purchasing a creepy mannequin for "Chain Reaction" because if "Separate Ways" and "After the Fall" are supposed to give any indication of budget, I suspect you could raid the cushions of that goofy fucking leopard chair in ATF and come up with enough pocket change to remake both of those videos. Twice.

I haven't seen worse air-keyboarding since Julian Lennon in "Too Late For Goodbyes".

OK, that may be in another section of the interviews. The djs asked about Steve having lived in a hotel for a long time and then Steve said he had a condo now set up like a hotel. Jon describes Steve's massive bed and calls it a Hiawatha bed.

Separate Ways...What were they thinking?
If we look back, there are a lot of videos from that era that have something stupid about them...Or maybe we see them that way today because the video concepts have changed so much since.

However, there are people who love Separate Ways...Although I sense there's an ounce of irony in the text below.

I just had to watch this video again. This is EXACTLY what a video SHOULD be. The members of the band, semi-role playing, and still singing/playing the part they normally do in the band. Low production, too. I mean, come on....isn't it supposed to be about the music? Fuck The Cars and their stupid videos. THOSE videos were bad.....bordering on disturbing. Rick's head on a fly...and that video was considered good? Give me a fuckin' break. Journey had it right as it pertained to videos. Keep it low cost, keep it real and most importantly NEVER let it overshadow your music. Leave "great" videos for shitty songs/artists. I enjoy all of Journey's videos, especially After The Fall and Faithfully.

I vote this as one of Perry's best vocals for a song I cannot stand.

'piecesofeight' i agree with you regarding the video which is the worst video my eyes have ever seen, but you really need to get some new ears, as you are no doubt stone fucking deaf.
Separate Ways is probably the all time classic Journey song. Along with Don't Stop Believing can anyone say that the band have at any show since 83, not played this song? such is the absolute monster that Separate Ways is. The band know it and so do the fans. I can not, under any circumstances believe that any fan of the band Journey would not like and not want to hear Separate Ways at every fuckin show.

that'd be Jon Cain's wife. Better known for her role as Skinemax queen, for her softcore friday night movies. At least that's what I heard.

I don't think that's her. It would be interesting to know one way or the other...

In the Faithfully video, they show a picture of Jon's wife, and she has very long hair. The woman in the Separate Ways video has short hair. I don't think it's her either.

My 6 year old daughter loves this video because of the 'pretty woman'. I think it's probably the white pumps with the black leather mini-skirt...
