First off, it's 18 til I die, and also On a Day Like today is also a fine effort.

Just sign this place over to me, as you sir have lost the fire

At least you admit Room Service was better than Falling in Between. A lot better in fact. Sorry Luke, loved partying with ya dude, but Room Service blows your latest disc out of the water. Hit the bottle and write a solid record for fucks sake.

That's pretty good you furry little rodent, but NO dick goes in my mouth!

But seriously, you line up TOTO next to Adams' band and it isn't close dude. The album sales and hit tunes reflect that.

Notice you didn't mention Bobby...

Anyway, Adams has his full band back. Seriously Andrew, TOTO cannot write songs like Adams and Keith can..Throw in Jim Vallance, game over. And, I am not so sure Lukather is any better than Scott. I asked Neal one night about K Scott, and Neal was glowing about him. IMO, he sounds a lot like Schonny. Tommy Mandell is still there as well.

Did you know Andrew, they played 5 years as a trio only? Adams sang and played bass, Scott on guitar and Mandell on drums. That is talent to do that shit; especially when you were a 5 pc band before.

Where'd you hear the old band was back?

I met Bryan in 1990 when he toured Tassie....walked right up to Tommy M and introdued myself, said I was afan of his. He nearly clear fell ovr. Couldn't believe I had heard of him :)
What a legend...

BTW - Check out Tommy's solo/intro to John Waite's Missing You when he was in the Waite band and they played it live on the 1984 tour. Amazing....AMAZING. Will have to find it here someplace...

No, not the original band..sorry....I meant BA has hired a bass player so he can play rythm guitar and sing lead, and they hired a keyboard player too. Tommy is still on the drums.

They sound much better as a 5 piece band vs a 3 piece outfit. Ever seen them live Andrew? I would take them live over Journey...I know that's hard to say, but I would. I can only say that about two bands..BA and Bruce.

Dude, limp wrist or not, and let's face it, (how many euro singers aren't?) John Waite has some good stuff. I admit Adams had some GREAT stuff back in the day, but his music as they say, ain't what it used to be. There's several limp wristers that deserve to be in there. Neither Adams nor Waite have been the same "lately".

I didn't mean it to sound like Boston doesn't deserve to get in, I think a LOT of people are still highly emotional about Delp's death, so they say Boston deserves in first time, I simply say no. Not the first time, but up there.

Frampton,ok, he had one of if not THE biggest "live" abum of all time, certainly a mainstay on Rock/Classic Rock radio, but not a first timer either. Later down the road.

Heart? Of course Heart. For one, they deserve it. But also there's got to be some women in the hof right away. But not just the token woman band, THE woman band that is deserving. Ann's vocal's and writing, as well as her much hotter Sister Nancy on guitars and singing... UFH! as we say.

Goddammit, I have been trying to tell you, that BA is back to his old self, back to rocking. Waite is a goofy feminine euro fag, and I'm sorry, that fluffy feathered blow dried lettuce of his is embarrassing.

So BA had 5 yrs of making bank(ballads), but that shit is over. What has fuckin Waite done besides Missing You and Change? Dude, BA has over 25 top 40 hits...He will be a first timer into the RnR HOF. I believe hi eligible next year. We'll see.

Tommy is the keyboard plater from the old band...Tommy Mandel. Yeah, seen Bryan live a couple of times. Have about 10 bootlegs of other shows. amazing.

John Waite, great live. Fag or not. Especially acoustic. Just him and a guitar player. Saw him live as many times as I've seen Journey, including two times with Bad English. I know, big whoopdefuck! but each time was great going back to 1984 tour.

I've heard a lot of Waite's recent stuff, none of Adams', except a live concert I saw on Dtv over a year ago. it was ok, and they really love him in Europe. If he's gotten better, I'd love to hear some of it.

You haven't heard any of Waite's recent stuff because there isn't any. He hasn't bothered to update either of his sites in years. He's an incredible songwriter and performer, however, and definitely deserving of a MRHOF nomination by 2009 or 2010. Just buy "Temple Bar" someday. It's one of the five best CD's of the 90's.

Deano, I have to mention that I resent your comments about Night Ranger, as if my moniker wasn't a dead giveaway. They're absolutely one of the greatest live acts in the world. You'd have to be the first person I know who loves Journey and doesn't care for NR.

Speaking of Night Ranger, there seems to be a great deal of speculation about the status of Jeff Watson. I'm going to delete a comment I posted on the NR blog because I simply don't want to get caught up in the controversy.

Thus, having further dispelled the notion that I have anything useful to say about anything...

This Melodic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a fantastic idea!! This thread proves it.
The bands that frequent this site would love the honor Drew, it would be darn expensive under taking and maybe down the line the members online could help out with the fees--with an honor system, forming a committee to decide the criteria and so on.

Its visionary and cool to boot.

Don't know if anyone listens to Ron and Fez, but they were talking about the joke that the RRHOF fame is, and the number of artists not in there. One of their listeners called and said that KISS should be in the RRHOF, and Ron said they will go in with The Archies, The Partridge Family, The Monkees and the Brady Kids. Thought that was funny!

I saw BA in 2005 with Def Lep, and he really kicked ass. Hadn't seen him since the Into The Fire tour, and he kicked ASS!! Got OADLT nad I didn't care for it, but Deano is right,Room Service was a really good record. After seeing him again live, I went out the next day and got Room Service.

I personally really liked 18 'til I Die.Can't go wrong with Mutt.He can make or break a band.

No matter what they have become now, Def Lep in their prime was a really good rock band.I think they really lost the plot after Hysteria, though I thought Euphoria was a good record, as was Slang.

I did see them on the X tour, and they rocked but the last 2 times I saw them(twice with BA and 3 times with Journey),Joe Elliott really looked as though he was going through the motions and would have rather been in line at the buffet, rather than singing and entertaining an arena full of people.
