I don't think Andrew likes KISS. Look at this quote:

Andrew wrote:If you vote for KISS, you're taking the PISS

Strong language from the director of the MELROCK HOF.

Don't know if anyone listens to Ron and Fez, but they were talking about the joke that the RRHOF fame is, and the number of artists not in there. One of their listeners called and said that KISS should be in the RRHOF, and Ron said they will go in with The Archies, The Partridge Family, The Monkees and the Brady Kids. Thought that was funny!

That is funny.

Glam Rock HOF: KISS, Hanoi Rocks, Poison, Crue.

whocares wrote:John Waite, great live. Fag or not. Especially acoustic. Just him and a guitar player. Saw him live as many times as I've seen Journey, including two times with Bad English. I know, big whoopdefuck! but each time was great going back to 1984 tour.

I've heard a lot of Waite's recent stuff, none of Adams', except a live concert I saw on Dtv over a year ago. it was ok, and they really love him in Europe. If he's gotten better, I'd love to hear some of it.

Saw Wait in twice in 2005 acoustic and he did a meet and greet afterward and couldn't have been nicer.
He must have gotten some good blow, on the days I met him.

My first three choices would be...

Styx
Journey
Heart
8)
Then...
REO
Foreigner
or
Kenny Loggins

8)

What about a "second fiddle" MROR HOF?

2007 inductees:
John Oates
Art Garfunkel
Jim Messina
Alan Fitzgerald

Well, it looks to me, from the "votes" expressed here so far, that the first class of the MRHOF is shaping up like this, in order:

Journey
Boston
Styx
Foreigner

with likely second-rounders being:

REO Speedwagon
Def Leppard
Bon Jovi
Heart

Keep voting - very interesting to see who's getting support!

OK, now that we're narrowing things down, if each of the first rounders get to perform one song at the induction ceremony (assuming their most popular lineup, whether or not that's realistic), what song should it be, and who should introduce them?

Journey: Don't Stop Believin', Separate Ways (using actual instruments)
Boston: IF Fran Cosmo sang...More Than a Feeling, Smokin'
Styx: Come Sail Away, Brave New World
Foreigner: Dirty White Boy, I Want to Know What Love Is (backed up by JSS, SP, Cosmo, Tommy Shaw, DDY)

I'd say that those talentless hacks from the grunge bands that ruined music should have to introduce the bands. Who wouldn't appreciate that irony? The pre-requisite would be they'd have to wear diapers and have placards around their necks stating "We Always Knew We Sucked But We Were In It For The Money Since We Had No Talent".

I'd say Beddie Wetter of Toe Jam, Douchebag Navvarro, Scooter Weiland, and that loser, wife-beating alcoholic lead singer from Bush, whatever his name is.

My 4 would be:

Journey
Bon Jovi
Def Leppard
Foreigner

These 4 bands simply encompass what melodic rock is and have the sales and hits to prove that.

LOL, 7 Wishes, you're not bitter or anything, are you? :D

I like the idea of I Want To Know What Love Is at the end of the show backed by all the leads. That would be AWESOME.

"I Want To Know What Love Is" is arguably the most popular song in melodic rock history. It was # 1 in like 17 countries.

The number one song of all time is Everything I Do, I Do it for You. 26 weeks, 27 countries.

BUT, that is NOT a rock song either. Get over the Foreigner trip. Lou Gramm looks like the guy who just took off the Grimace uniform from McDonalds, and is stopping off at the Bowling Alley for burgers and Beers, before going home and sticking the old lady.

Dude, the way you jock Bryan Adams is hysterical. He's a middle tier singer who has enjoyed commercial success with a safe, even tempo playing style. He's a good singer...nothing more nothing less. That is, until his balls fell out of his sack and he started recording ballads that make Open Arms look like Heavy Metal. He should really consider another sex change. I liked him as an artist so much better when he was male.

PS Your aforementioned song isn't in the same league as the Foreigner tune I mentioned. It's sappy, pathetic and spineless. Not to mention that you hardly EVER hear it anymore. I hear IWKWLI a lot here in Chicago.

Maybe. But Deano, before his brain tumor, he was one of the flat-out ballsiest, talented, and high-powered vocalists EVER. Surely you can't hold that against him...besides, until they went cheese in the mid-80's, their albums rocked.

The side effects of a BRAIN TUMOR that nearly killed him Dean. PLEASE research a little before making a tit of yourself.

Andrew, I know dude. Brain Tumours are tough, no doubt. I am not a doctor, but I'll play one here at MR. Since when does having a brain tumour cause one to gain 258 lbs?

Dude, the work that was done to Lou's brain hit the area that controls the body's metabolism level. Lou put on serious weight right after the brain tumor due to the damage, not due to eating too many cheese burgers.
