Bryan Adams Review...

Postby Saint John » Sat Mar 24, 2007 12:40 pm

In honor of Rockindeano's undying passion for Bryan Adams, I decided to give that crater-faced Canadian a thorough listen. I've ALWAYS like BA. I just don't share the same level of enthusiasm that Deano does. Upon further review, BA IS better than I thought. I youtubed A LOT of live performances. Admirable to say the least. The guy can sing. HOWEVER, what separates him from the big dogs is range. BA can't hold a note for very long. That said, it's a credit to the rest of his abilities to make his songs sound as good as they do. Fuck you Deano...he IS good. Happy fucker? Here's a cool live clip:

Dude, ask Jeff. It's not the range that makes the singer, nor the voice. Hell, no one was better than Espee. BUT, I never hear Adams crack. I also see him play guitar, bass guitar, piano, and he writes like a motherfucker.

Thank you for the accolades. I have heard rumours..that if Journey return to Europe for those big jam concerts, BA will close many of them. Just a rumour, mind you.

You have to admit, he can write a song, with both quality lyrics and music. He can write deep lyrics when needed, but sure, the poppy boy boning girl is always easy, and you have to give props to Summer of 69. You DO know what that is about, right? It sure as hell isn't about the summer in 1969!

Dude,

There are only two things cool about Bryan Adams:

1. He said 69 a shitload of times in one song
2. He had The Storm open for him in 1991

:)

He cracks at 2:53, 2:59, 3:20 and 3:26. I swear to God, I can read your mind. I Knew what you were going to say. And this is only the 3rd song of the show.

Yep, he's alright man, it's just fun giving you shit. I seen him live in 91/92 when The Storm opened for him. He was really good, not as good as RV, GR, KC and JR but was pretty damn good. He kinda has a Stewart style to his voice, not bad at all.

Bullshit on this one bro. Have you not seen "The Party's Over" with Perry in the other thread? I can't think of ANY live performance better than that one.

Let's see crater face sing this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuxleqU0iDg

or this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKz_YYLApC8 Good luck hitting THOSE notes Bryan. On the heels of the Escape tour, Perry belts this out like you or I would take a piss. It's simply THAT easy when God blessed you like he did Mr. Perry. Take your Bryan Adams bullshit elsewhere. He's good, but we're talking Journey. He's Triple-A.

How about this one guys. Seriously, do me a favour, and listen to this one.

I would love to see Journey speed up Open Arms to something like this.
This might be one of the best live songs I have seen excluding Espee.

Dude,

It's a good song but I personally don't think it's up to Journey standards. But then again, there isn't nearly enough overdriven rhythm guitar for my tastes. I think that version of "Heaven" was a bit softer than the originally recorded version.

L8r,

Aaron

Why do you exclude SP? You just said BA can do a song better than "ANY Journey song." BTW, this is WAY out of key....keyed down BIG-TIME. Very good nonetheless. I like it. I'll attribute your retarded Monker-like comments to the fact that you're drinking.

Ok, I hope Neal doesnt see this, but dude, Bryan Adams doesn't half ass it. That wasn't dropped or even remotely out of key. He doesn't use tapes.

Also, I think Espee is Superman, but what I was trying to say is, That Summer of 69 song, the one you posted, blows anything , and I mean anything I have ever seen from Journey away. You see the crowd? That wasn't a smelly Euro crowd. That was Vancouver.

So I jock the guy. Now you know why.

And by the way, I respect you two fuckers opinion. I just think he is a first ballot HOF er.

Have you been to Shanghai lately? I was there a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Wow, what a beautiful place. There is different architecture there based on who occupied the city at the time (French, Germans, Brits, etc.). The local food is shit (donkey, duck tongue, king snake, etc.), but the city was pretty nice.
