Yes - but the reviewer was right to say that the band need to come out of their 1978-1983 comfort zone a bit more often. Out of 24 songs...only one of them was recorded after 1983. That really is a bit lame. Can you imagine a band like Rush doing this?

Dude, Cologne Germany hasn't seen Journey for 30 years. Let them hear the hits live. They don't want to hear Augeri crap. They want to hear the big ones live.

Not sure if it's that lame since Journey's power comes from the 78-83 era.People come to hear those songs, but I agree that a bit of "upgrading" would be necessary. There are quite a few after-'83 songs that really deserve to make it on the concert setlist everytime.

I take your point Deano. But I imagine that the crowd in Cologne was similar to those in the UK: die-hards who know the catalogue extremely well and aren't just there to hear the GH.

Don't get me wrong - playing Mystery Mountain and opening with Rubicon demonstrate that Journey are taking a couple of risks here and there - but there's still room in the set-list to accomodate at least something from ROR, TBF and the crappy Augeri albums - and to play all the biggest hits too.

In fact...if they are primarily there to play the hits...then play the hits! BGTY, GCHI, WYLAW were much more popular than - say - La Do Da and Line of Fire.

So I guess I don't quite understand what the logic is behind the current set list.

Is Faith In The Heartland still in?
I'd imagine the krauts would know that since they had the record out on Frontiers there.

GHCI and BGTY...might never hear those two again, especially GCHI... Different story for WYLAW.

I agree NIG. I was really impressed with JSS' vocals on that one - and it could easily replace After The Fall, which is a classic to be sure but JSS sounds less assured...

Don't think it's Jeff who don't like GCHI, i believe that Neal hates the song with a passion.
Strange really as its a freakin Journey classic that one.
