Well, I like Nickelback, and I think All The Right Reasons is a great CD. I understand what they're getting at, though. There are definitely acts which I can't stand which are pretty popular. Nelly, for one.

I don't like Nickelback but I couldn't enjoy hating them in the way I enjoy hating Styx, Bon Jovi and Def Leppard.

I'm with you on Pink Floyd Larry. I never "got" them, I guess.

ROFL! You know, if I said I liked Nickleback around here people would think I'm normal. But I like Survivor and Journey and I get mocked mercilessly for that. THAT is considered fromage in these parts. LOL

It's all a matter of taste. Quite frankly, country music is my guilty pleasure. Yeah, I'll admit it.

I guess it's a matter of musical tastes. The debates are useless...We love what others hate,we hate what others love.No big deal.

Just don't make me listen to R.E.M.,The Greatful Dead or Bob-oring Dylan and I'm happy...

Nah he's not crazy, I just razz him about any Bon Jovi comments he makes, goes way back to a Poofter or Poodle comment he made ages ago.

Not too many bands I love to "hate". OK, maybe any "Rap" music, to me it just seems to lack the talent that the 70s/80s artist had. You don't have to know how to play an instrument or even have to know how to sing. I agree with you on REM, never did get the appeal of them either.

I'd probably go with Pink Floyd, The Pretenders, and Christina Aguilera.

all of todays bands are terrible.

back in the day

Bee Gees, Elton John and Zepplin... You either loved Stairway to Heavon or you hated it... I hated that song!! Today however, their music has come to grow on me, especially Zep and a lot of the Bee Gees!

Other artist I love to hate, Madonna except the sex book... Rod Stewart, REM, Richard Marx, Eagles and Fleetwood Mac.

The most completely over rated band of all time has got to be The Clash. They are consistantly in the top 10 critics picks for greatest band ever. Do you know of any Clash fans? I don't.

Other bands that seem incredibly popular, but I just don't get the hype include:

Dave Matthews Band
Pink Floyd
Pearl Jam

(shrugs shoulders)
Nope I mean everything they have done that I have listened to.
New Years Day is the ONLY U2 song I like.
Never liked em his voice irked me and my younger Sis played
the sheet outta them in the 80's.

You don't like Pink Floyd? I love 'em. Brings back a lot of memories. Fuzzy ones, but they're there.

The only band that I absolutely HATE is the Grateful Dead, and of course, the hubby loves them.

The Doors (I don't get Jim at all)
Rush - augh that voice irritates
Kiss - Saw them and all I could do was laugh. Especially when Gene started doing the blood out of the mouth thing.

As far as Nickelback goes, I like them...but if you listen to their music, it's all the same song.... or is that Staind... maybe both.
