OT: Goo Goo Dolls & Lifehouse to tour together!

This is great news for me because I love both of these bands. I just read this on Lifehouse's site:

The Moment we've all been waiting for
We are proud to announce that after about 9 months of blood, sweat and tears, our fourth album is coming out. It is amazing.

The title of album four is "Who We Are".

It will be in stores in June!!

We are about to go on a major tour with the Goo Goo dolls for like 3 months... Dates are on the way.

Jonathan Cain turned me onto them in 2000 when he was doing some interview. He was asked who he really liked in current or new music. He answered Lifehouse, so I checked them out and have been a big fan ever since.

Some of the songs you might have heard on the radio have been "Hanging By A Moment" or "Come Back Down." My favorite song by them is "Blind." It's quite melodic in a modernistic type of way. They are definitely a pop band, but their music is quite catchy. I have their self titled album and it's pretty good. Think of them as a band that is in the class of Sister Hazel or Gin Blossoms.

Correct. HBAM is on No Name Face -- if you don't have this CD, you need to get it right now! When you hear the music and listen to lyrics, you'll know what I'm sayin. I love Blind & Come Back Down, but also really like Better Luck Next Time. Lifehouse is really good live as are the Goos', so this is going to be a lot of fun for me. I have the Goo's last CD and it's a bore fest. Name, Naked, Long Way Down -- those are some of the better of their songs. I saw them on the Tonight Show not too long ago, and they all just looked bored to me. I hope they get inspired soon.

"Long Way Down" is a great track on the "Twister" soundtrack, after "Humans Being" by VH, of course.

I seem to remember watching the Behind The Music with the Goo Goo Dolls and how they were talking about having such a problem with writer's block when it came down to writing material. They are definitely a band that might write one maybe two really good hits and then have the rest of the CD full of fillers. The thing is, they have good talent and a good sound, but they just need a shot in the arm with their song writing.

One thing about LH- They're either managed or produced by Jude Cole. His START THE CAR album should've sold boatloads when it came out. Great record. Shaw/Blades actually did some backup vocals on that album. One of my favorite albums.
