Sanjaya is still in the competition.

And I read somewhere that ratings for the show are up to around 37 million.
I was in an Italian restaurant enjoying a nice dinner. There was a bar there, of which the whole restarurant had a view. In that bar was a huge tv. What came on during dinner but AI. The whole place stopped to watch Sanjay saved, and you should have heard the groans and utter shock. My table let of a collective "I dont fucking BELIEVE this shit"!!!!!!!!!! More power for Howie. He's truly one of a kind.

It's proving to be something like, HEY, I've got this audience, (Stern, O'Reilly, Limbaugh) that will pretty much do as I say. (whether they do, themselves, what they are telling other people to do/say isn't the issue)

It's a big mockery of the so called entertainment industry anymore. There's very little on radio or tv that's truly entertaining anymore, very little reality to anything anymore. Sadly the Sanjaya's, the O'Reilly and Limburger cheese followers are what helps make the people of the U.S. look like damned fools to the rest of the world.

At first I was feeling bad for the good singers who get voted out while Sanjaya stays in, but as HOS said earlier, the good ones get picked up by labels/managers and tend to fare better than if they'd won.
So now I don't have to feel bad about them being victims of injustice, I kind of like what Stern is doing.

I now want Simon to have to manage/make a star of Sanjaya and then quit.

I am a bad person.

Randy Jackson the other night on "The Late Late Show" even said he doesn't know what Sanjaya is still on for.

But also added that people SHOULD know by now, that they have to be not just good singers but great singers to get far. What a crock of shit. I don't care if I ever watch it again, but you can't escape the show, no matter what network you watch.

I like AI and I like Simon too, so I hope he doesn't quit the show.

Althought I wasn't expecting San-Gay-ya to get the boot last night, it still erks me that others with more talent are gone and he's still there..just doesn't seem right to me.

I'm in another country and I can't escape it - so you have my sympathy.

Simon's ok really but he is responsible for a lot a crap.

But as we've said, hopefully the good ones will get a career even though they don't win the contest.
And they may even be better off because they won't be tied to performing what Simon thinks is good.

Good example would be Chris Daughtry, who I happen to be seeing on April 5 - YEA!

I quite like Simon. It's his job to be honest and for the most part he is, imo. He's appealing in many ways, except for the tee shirt. He'd look good in a purple, long sleeved shirt, lol.

I didn't even watch it last night. We were having storms and I went to bed and read. I don't really have enough interest in it this year to make it a point to watch.

Well, there's a difference between being honest and being crude and rude. He is the latter. He could be honest without trying to verbally smack down all the bad performers.

Well how boring that would be! If you want to be famous, you gotta learn to take the knocks along with the love. That's what Paula is for. Simon is to deliver the brutal truth in a humorous way. By now, anyone going on AI knows what to expect from Simon. I wouldn't even watch it if he weren't on it!

I didn't say he wasn't entertaining because he is. He's just not my style and certainly not how I would act in public towards others.

It's his persona and the singers expect it from him. It makes it all the more fantastic when he gives them raves. They are more overjoyed than from anything the other two say. He is judging and they have to take the bad with the good. I think that they will be better performers for it in the long run.

That's a very good point. One compliment from Simon is worth 1 million from Paula. When he does compliment you, you know you have kicked serious ass!

I would guess Melinda. He seems to give her the most praise. The worst I have heard him say to her is that he didn't like her outfit last Tuesday night.
