OT - Wandering IP Addresses

Here it is, March 30th at 10:00pm and I just ventured over to the JourneyForums to find it shut down, after not having been there for what must be weeks. It's a shame and after reading through the thread here, it looks like one individual was busy stirring the pot.

I also noted that it was stated that this person never used the same IP address twice. Andrew, I've told you before that you can NOT go by IP addresses. Case in point - I am using a proxy server to post this and my IP address is 195.70.150.90 from Czech Republic. It's a simple program to download and inexpensive to boot! Beyond this, you need NO additional hardware. I can change my IP address as I write this if I want to. So, why do I have one? Because I'm sick of spam and I'm sick of trojans and I'm sick of the crap that gets loaded onto my machine, so I prefer to surf anonymously.

Andrew - when you've stated in the past that two people in particular had IP addresses that weren't even CLOSE so they could NOT be the same person, this is why: They COULD be the same person using a program such as the one I'm using. They could choose to use the same IP address all the time or have it change every few minutes.

At any rate, I wish I had time to post here more, but I'm off onto other things. Enjoy your fellowship folks. Oh, and Andrew...there is an EXCELLENT chance that your two friends are still here, posting under several nics and a variety of IP addresses. They will always win.

All Andrew has to do is check the IP address I used to post THIS post and he'll know it's me. I changed it back to my own ACTUAL IP address.

Far from being over dramatic, I was simply trying to offer some advice as to WHY trolls will always win the battle. But frankly, I could care less how you see my post, Larry.

Unfortunately, you can't be in my western - End of the Trail. The part of the obnoxious town drunk has already been taken...plus you can't spell. The two previous accounts I had were deleted by Andrew (at my request), so I signed on temporarily with this one. Is this making sense to you, or is it going over your head, Larry. If so, maybe someone else will explain it to you. I just don't have the time...you know, with script revisions, scouting locations and all.

Sure...it is possible. But in my now many years of experince, true fuckwits cannot hide their true personality for long and if someone comes back under a new identity or whatever...then it ain't long before they are busted out of their shell for who they really are.
