Stone in Love is *not* about being stoned!!!

I loved Shania's list... I agree particularly with

Van Halen - Jump
Survivor - High On You
Aerosmith- Dude Looks Like A Lady
Sammy Hagar - Sam I Am -- OMG I love this song!!!!
Steve Perry - Strung Out
Nelson - Love & Affection

A couple more happy MR tunes:

I Can't Hold Back / Survivor
Happy Trails / Van Halen
Amazing / Aerosmith
Right Now / Van Halen
I Was Made for Loving You / Kiss

BUT!! I get what you are saying. The really chipper and enthusiastic themed songs are few and far between.

Never heard this one, I'll go find it

I'll bet you've heard it. It's just got a name that doesn't fit the song.

Here's someone else singing it.

Did JM smile when he sang it as that dude singing kinda makes you feel a bit depressed don't he

ROFL! that fuckin' Babe tune is not one of my favourites, I'll tell you that.

I actually *like* the melodrama of AOR and the gut wrenching-ness of it. I think my introduction to the genre might have been Meat Loaf's "For Crying Out Loud" and I laughed until I thought I would die at the imagery of his jeans bursting apart. Then my friend put on Bat out of Hell and I thought it couldn't get anymore melodramatic, but IT DID.

I was an angst ridden emotional youngster. I guess that type of music speaks to a part of the soul. If I wanted to listen to Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens, I would.

SNORT!!! Hey, lay off Canada man! It's awesome here. Except for the clubbing baby seals part. That part sucks.

HAHA

Okay, seriously, you need some proof that there is energy and rock in MR? GO PUT ON Sam I Am by Sammy Hagar. Fuck, I love that song. I love that song so much it hurts.

Speaking of Sammy, I often have "Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do" and "I Can't Stop Loving You" on repeat ... back and forth between the two. Between the drums and the guitars and the soaring vocals and the mesmerizing lyrics, I can't help but feel uplifted. Seriously.

Nothing gets my blood pumping faster than Sammy Hagar.

I don't listen to the lyrics half the time but every time this song is played, I get a feel good feeling. One of my favorite music videos also.

You Can Call Me Al Lyrics
Artist(Band):Paul Simon

You Can Call Me Al Lyrics

A man walks down the street
He says why am I soft in the middle now
Why am I soft in the middle
The rest of my life is so hard
I need a photo-opportunity
I want a shot at redemption
Don't want to end up a cartoon
In a cartoon graveyard
Bonedigger Bonedigger
Dogs in the moonlight
Far away my well-lit door
Mr. Beerbelly Beerbelly
Get these mutts away from me
You know I don't find this stuff amusing anymore
If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al

A man walks down the street
He says why am I short of attention
Got a short little span of attention
And wo my nights are so long
Where's my wife and family
What if I die here
Who'll be my role-model
Now that my role-model is
Gone Gone
He ducked back down the alley
With some roly-poly little bat-faced girl
All alone alone
There were incidents and accidents
There were hints and allegations

If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al
Call me Al

A man walks down the street
It's a street in a strange world
Maybe it's the Third World
Maybe it's his first time around
He doesn't speak the language
He holds no currency
He is a foreign man
He is surrounded by the sound
The sound
Cattle in the marketplace
Scatterlings and orphanages
He looks around, around
He sees angels in the architecture
Spinning in infinity
He says Amen! and Hallelujah!

If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
You can call me Al
Call me Al

Has the same effect on me, same as his "Pink Houses".

Journey's Escape concert and John Mellencamp's Lonesome Jubilee concert are still, to this day my top 2 favorite concerts. I have never seen so many people up dancing in one concert arena before. :D
