Mackintosh Toffee and Salt Water Taffy are two
things I ate mountains of as a child due to
my Fathers love for them both.
Haven't had either in years.
Thanks for stirring up thoughts of him for
me, that's always nice.

What is this shit? Government issued handouts? I, like NIG, have only heard of the Hostess pies and the Marathon Candy Bar. "Oh Boy Oberto Sausage?" That sounds disgusting. Are you Amish, Mormon or did you grow up in a foster home?

Moon, you were probably too busy eating worms and grabbing peckers to remember any of these things. That's how I vision your childhood.

Well I'd love to take part in this but coming from the UK, we had no such thing as junk food in the days of my childhood, I had Spam on Toast on Monday, Tuesday - Spam and Salad, Wednesday - Cold spam and Chips (Fries) Thursday - Deep Fried Spam with Smash Potatoes (just add water!!). Friday - Spam sandwiches. Saturday - Spam, brown sauce and roast potatoes. Sunday...no idea as by that point I'd fucked off and joined the Circus. There's only so much Spam a man can take

Why am I jonezing for some Monty Python right now? :P

" SPAM, SPAM, SPAM and SPAM"!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, wine and chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "what a ride!"

The two "activities" that I mentioned are far closer to the "norm" than what the author mentioned. Never heard of most of that stuff. My junk food consisted of stuff that is still around today. Shit like Doritos, Twix, Twizzlers licorice, Nerds, Snickers and Bubblicious gum

The combination of a Payday candy bar and a Dr.Pepper made a great breakfast or lunch.

We used to put packets of peanuts down in our coke bottles. It was good at the time. Not sure I could stomach that now.
