Nah.
Keith Richards doesn't need pub.
It was a flippant remark desinged to tweak people about his image.

In this case he's feeding off it to maintain his image and for shock value, imo.

I'd humbly submit that as a decent-sized fan of his I know a little bit about Richards and he could really give a shit what whoever thinks his image is.
Minimal pretense there, he's just having fun with people.

People who claim to not care what others think about them typically aren't worth thinking much of in the first place.

Good, Dave.
Simple, yet sanctimoniously pious.

I'm serious. Look at the people who keep saying things like "I don't care what people think of me" or who live life with that attitude. They are usually the ones who are jerks, bitches, or whatever. People you wouldn't want to be around very much, in other words. Nothing sanctimonious about that at all.

 OK, I'm gonna take a little stroll out on a short limb here and just ask if your holier-than-thou opinion of the guy has just a smidgen to do with the Stones' stated political preferences.

Now, does it? And don't lie now.

Holier-than-thou? I've never claimed to be perfect. Far from it.

Regardless, has nothing to do with their "stated political preferences". Other than they wrote some song about Bush a while back, I have no idea what their political leanings are.

Holier-than-thou?

Yes.
On this matter I'm afraid so. The sad part is I think has to do with their politics and not what you know about Keith Richards.

Keith Richards has actually been dead for the past 19 years. He just doesn't know it yet.

Let me repeat myself. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR POLITICAL BELIEFS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE. I'm a HUGE Queensryche fan and their stated political beliefs are completely opposite mine. Doesn't bother me a bit and it doesn't hinder my enjoyment of their music and the same goes for other artists that I enjoy (Mellencamp, Springsteen, etc.). If I hated the Stones because of their political beliefs, I would flat-out say so.

Well, color me corrected then, I guess.
I guess I was misled by the signature and some of the political discussions you've partaken of.

The sig is a joke. Yes, I am a Christian and I take my faith very seriously but it's kinda like a badge of honor since I've had people call me names similar to that in the past. I am also a staunch conservative. However, I don't limit my musical tastes only to artists who agree with my political and/or religious viewpoints. I would probably draw the line, however, at a Satanic Communist band, though.

So true- hence my nickname for the whole band- the "Strolling Bones"

Actually, I do believe that if there is a nuclear war- Keith would survive it. Along with cockroaches and alligators

How is anyone supposed to believe him? First he says he didn't, then he says he was just joking. I heard a soundbyte this morning concerning this, form Richards, and to tell you the truth, I still believe he probably did it.

Best post in the thread. :D

Oh, and I believe he did it. He's just been backpeddling after someone told him how unacceptable it was from a PR standpoint.

Sure he does... Mick comes by once a year and digs him up for a quick tour, and then back into the crypt he goes...

I agree - Keith has not been with us for years. I think he is pickled. ;) The magazine is now rebutting his denial:

 worrying about that is light years from how he's always conducted himself. Plus the Stones make those rules, not conform to them.

I'm saying again, I believe he's yanking media chains and laughing his ass off.

Who cares what Keith Richards did with his fathers remains? There are many other issues way more important than that to worry about.

Snorting cocaine was also part of the story. I guess that's not important, either, huh?

We're not trying to solve all the worlds problems here, you might have noticed THAT. It was from a (ahem) "news" article.

Indeed... I found it humorous. I was wondering if it was a publicity stunt to promote some tour?

Truth is stranger than fiction and with Richards, things are pretty much strange all the time. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this is really true.
