Hello! Anyone up for a couple more drinks? 8)

I've brought the purchases I did today with me:
Black Sabbath - The Dio Years. Got it because of the three new songs... and I really like them, especially Shadow Of The Wind. Hopefully there's more to come!

Lots of info in the booklet btw. Heaven and Hell never struck me as a record where the most obvious audience to test the songs out to were the dancers at a strip club... yet that's what they did with each of the songs! That the strip club was right across the studio may have played a part in it... And I must say, it worked very well; those girls had a good ear obviously!

The other is Threshold - Dead Reckoning... in the worst packaging possible. The front sleeve that holds the booklet is like that of a vinyl record, only with the opening at the inside; right at the fold. To get the booklet out neatly a pair of tweazers would come in very handy!

It seems that a CD in a jewelcase is a luxury as well these days. Both Threshold versions were the same price, but the digipack came with an extra song. :?

I got back from a trip myself. Finally got a copy of the new Within Temptation "The Heart of Everything." It has its moments, but outside the potential singles, it falls short of The Silent Force. Review to follow when the time allows. Also picked up Epica 'Consign To Oblivion.' I passed up on this band when I hadn't got into grunts, but after heavy rotation of After Forever, I'm ready for their material.

Even better news. My bro and I got an invite from our friend in New Hampshire to join him next May to go see the KISS Expo show in New Jersey! Pretty much all we need is some money and a set of wheels to get to his place, and then he'll drive us from there! I gotta plead for more hours at work or I won't be able to afford the hotel room.

Not much new otherwise. There's been a change of management at work and so my schedule has been a mess. Maybe I'll have more time to catch up on the female rock reviews while I'm on down time.

I am very confused about the new WT. The vocals are more varied as they don't stick with the high pitch voice solely this time, so I should like it better than The Silent Force, and yet I don't. And then there's the single What Have You Done that I do like, while it has the boy/girl duet thing going on, with rap vocals -which I can't stand-, and yet I still enjoy that song. :?

I have mixed feelings about the duet. It's a true and definite Evanescence-style clone. Yet at the same time, the song is better than all of Evanescence's second album combined...to tell the truth, 'What Have You Done' sounds more like the true follow-up to Evanescence's 'Bring Me To Life' that Amy Lee only wishes she could've written.

It's gonna be difficult for me to write a review for this one...I can tell.

I like maybe 3 or 4 of the songs off the new WT...there are about 4-5 not bad/not great songs and the rest is pure filler shit.

SnakeLady and I went to see Circle II Circle yesterday. And again, we didn't spill our food or drinks! We may actually be getting good at that after all! 8)
