Mine is "Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do" by Van Halen.

That is my favorite VH song for sure. I agree with Carol, Escape is the best song ever.

DTMWLCD is definitely solid. VH's "Balance" album is my favorite and I think their best effort.

The first song that came to my mind was the one that was the first national RnR hit, and the one that gave the genre its name: "Rock Around the Clock," by Bill Haley and his Comets. To my ears it's still as fresh as ever.

That's always great to watch. Yesterday at work, a coworker put in the 2001 Las Vegas DVD and we were watching it at lunch. Most of the people there were really taken by how good Journey still sounds. Except for this one mouthy bitch. She kept saying how Neal was just in love with himself, and how she can't stand someone that is so into themselves like he is. I bit a hole in my damn lip to keep from telling her to go fuck herself. All together though, everyone was really into Journey. It was pretty cool.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

1. Beginnings - Chicago
2. Lakeside Park - Rush
3. Photograph- Def
By far not the best rock tracks but in my little world they are 8)

True dat. His sidemen aren't bad, either.

Edge is a shitty guitar player.

He's got a distinctive sound though - unlike Satriani and Malmsteem, who are more technically accomplished but sound utterly anonymous.

Nirvana had a "distinctive sound".......shit. Doesn't make you good.

Quite the opposite in Nirvana's case.
Said a mouthful there, SinJin.

File them AND the Foo Fighters under "Huh?" :| for me.

U2 is a shitty band. Fuck them and Bono's "save the world" crusade. He has the range of a pubic hair. They're a bunch of pretentious cocksuckers. Fuck them with a flagpole.

different strokes... He's no SP, but I really like his voice, I LOVE his "save the world" crusade,"and I love some of their music.

He preaches aid for other countries and calls on other nations to help countries that need it most, yet his concert tickets are annually throught the roof. The dude uses his fake public image to line his pockets. And dumbfucks file through the turnstyles annually to hear him and his band perform their half-ass music. Stupid fucks.

Bullshit! He has helped raise millions for charities ranging from USA for Africa, Amnesty International...you name it. He has globally raised awareness for the plight of aids victims, and the work of his ONE foundation is truly inspiring.
So the guys makes a little money off of his concert tickets? Big fucking deal! Find me a rock musician who DOESN"T... And have you SEEN them live? They are, without a doubt, one of the best live rock bands EVER...and a hell of alot more legitimate and RELEVANT than just about any band working today...

And while we're at it, have a little respect for the dead! The NIRVANA hate is really getting old...Kurt Cobain was brilliant fucking songwriter and left a huge mark on popular music and culture...something that, to my recolection, Survivor, TOTO or any of their ilk never really managed to do!

I said Nirvana had a shitty sound....how's that disrespectful toward the dead? Should I lie and say that I thought his music was good to please you? Here's how I feel about him. Kurt Cobain lived like a scumbag and he died like one. I have NO problem calling a spade a spade. Shitty lyrics, out of tune guitars, and fans who were basically the losers of society is hardly "a huge mark on popular music and culture." That is, unless shit stains count. Go stick Cobain's shriveled up femur up Bono's ass you semen slurper. When you're done, tell me how good the next Nirvana concert is. Leave me a PM though, as I might be at a Survivor or Toto concert.

"Semen slurper"...how adult of you...you must be a really wonderful person... I hope you have lots of chidren ...Lord knows we need more like you.

BTW Andrew - personal attacks like THIS don;t get people a warning anymore?

Followed closely by:

Heavy Music
Bob Segar and the Last Herd ( circa 1969)

Ahh come on with me baby
We're gonna have a good time
Don't you ever listen to the radio
When the big bad beat comes on
I know you gotta dig it
I know you can't stop it
Cause the bottom comes on so strong

Talkin 'bout (heavy music),
Oh I got to have it yeah (heavy music),
I got to love it now
Deeper (heavy music)
Deeper (heavy music)
Baby don't you get a kick, from it yeah
Dig it (heavy music)
Dig it baby (heavy music)
Dancin to that heavy music (music) What I sing to the heavy music (music)

Yeah a little bit deeper now, alright
Don't you ever feel like goin' insane
When the drums begin to pound
Ain't there ever been a time in your life
You couldn't believe what the band is puttin' down, about

(repeat chorus)
Yeah, alright, goin' in, goin in now
Oh yeah I'm goin' in now
Come on come on with me baby
Come on come on with me baby
Come on come on with me
Goin' deeper
Deeper deeper oh oh oh

and

Ramblin' Gamblin' Man

Bob Segar System 1969 (re-released in 1972 on "Smokin' O.P.'s")

Yeah, I'm gonna tell my tale come on,
Come on, give a listen

Cause I was born lonely down by the riverside
Learned to spin fortune wheels, and throw dice
And I was just thirteen when I had to leave home
Knew I couldn't stick around, I had to roam
Ain't good looking, but you know I ain't shy
Ain't afraid to look it girl, hear me out
So if you need some lovin, and you need it right away
Take a little time out, and maybe I'll stay

But I got to ramble (ramblin' man)
Oh I got to gamble (gamblin' man)
Got to got to ramble (ramblin' man)
I was born a ramblin' gamblin' man

Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah alright here we go now now
I'm out of money, cause you know I need some
I ain't around to love you now, and I gotta run
Gotta keep moving, never gonna slow down
You can have your funky world, see you 'round

(repeat chorus)
