Dude, if your brain was chocolate you wouldn't have enough to fill a fuckin' M&M. I can't get over Generations being, in YOUR opinion, the best Journey album ever. I'm not sure what makes you so stupid, but it sure is working.

1 - Frontiers
2 - Escape
3 - Infinity
4 - Evolution
5 - Departure
6 - Trial By Fire
7 - Raised on Radio

"Frontiers" beats out "Escape" just barely. To my ears "Dead or Alive", though it's a good tune, kinda messes up the flow of "Escape" enough to drop it into second place, more so than "Back Talk" does for "Frontiers". I also don't care for the fact that "Open Arms" closes it out. I just don't like ballads opening or closing an album.

Here they are:

Evolution
Departure
Infinity
Escape
Frontiers
Arrival

and dead last, TBF, the only Journey CD I bought that actually pissed me off the first time I listened to it.

To me, Frontiers popularity was just riding the coat tails of Escape.

I know so many people like it best, but for me it was a weak album.

Chain Reaction and After The Fall are cheesy - even aside from the videos.
Back Talk and Troubled Child should have been thrown away never to be heard.
Send Her My Loveis an alright song.
Faithfully is okay, but still not in the same category as Good Morning Girl, Stay Awhile, Opened The Door, and Patiently.
Frontiers and Rubicon - again, get on my nerves. Nothing apealing to me at all about these songs.
Edge Of The Blade - Soto made me like the song better than Perry ever did.
Seperate Ways - Once I got the live version video in my head and displaced the worst video ever made, the song got better.

I am not trying to debate with anyone, just sharing my thoughts on the albm.

Had the song lineup been the following, it would probably jump up above Evolution based on the better flow of music:

Seperate Ways
Send Her My Love
Only The Young
Edge Of The Blade
Chain Reaction
Rubicon
Frontiers
After The Fall
Faithfully
Ask The Lonely

Can you read? The thread starter, Deano, clearly asked for the 7 PERRY fronted albums to be ranked. Your vote does not count because A) You're a stupid fucker and can't read, or B) You made an honest mistake. Either way, your vote is nullified.

I agree Knox, Frontiers certainly got it's boost from Escape. Escape was my favorite because it had something to do with one of the best nights in my life. The restaruant, concert, date, friends. It was the perfect night.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Or C) Arrival was better than the other two Perry turds that were released and I counted it instead.

Escape is tops for me.
I like every song on it and it flows just fine.
Also, it was the first time I heard Journey - so its kind of like love at first sight for me. You always remember your first.

I then went out and bought the albums which went before it but didn't like them as much.

And I love TBF - except Castles Burning.
I also love ROR. All of it.
These albums I play often.

Frontiers, Evolution,Departure and Infinity - I have taken off a few tracks from each and made my own compilation CD.

I love Escape, Frontiers and ROR equally...I just can't chose...all three are masterpieces.

The others?

4) Departure
5) Infinity
6) Trial By Fire
7) Evolution

Matthew,
I agree about FRONTIERS and ESCAPE (my thoughts on ROR are well documented ! )
However, I'm curious- why no love for EVOLUTION? It's my favorite of all (though just by a hair)...

Well if my son is a 5 star player and Penn State recruits him, I will block that move in a second.

Oh...I feel the love alright X factor...but just not quite as much as the others....just by a hair! Very few of the songs - except for LTS and Daydream - are particularly favourites of mine...and I can't take Rolie's voice on Just The Same Way. In fact, Rolie's vocals are the weak link on all the first three albums...for me, anyway.

Garfriga's voice isn't up to much either. I never understood why the Journey keyboard players were allowed anywhere near a microphone.

It's called a duet...and in this case, you wanted something different. You had Perry and then you needed someone who could sing with him.. What you suggest, Ross? Can you see RV in his motorhome mechanics' uniform, singing, "Feeling that Way" and trying to make his faces and squirt water at the same time? LOL..Neal, not quite. Smith is as loud as a bull mouse. Greg has a strong voice. Garfriga doesn't. You don't want me to publicly talk about the secrets of Garfrigas pipes do you? No, you don't.

I don't love Rollies vocals, but I don't mind them either. To me they seem to bring out the best in Perry's vocals. Perry's voice sounds all that more angelic (for want of a better word) next to Rollies in songs like Someday Soon, Just the Same Way, etc. Totally with ya on Daydream and LTS too.

You? Who? I didn't want any duets. Just Perry on lead vocals and layered Perry over-dubs for harmonies. Everyone else can concentrate on what they're good at.

There! Right there! That is what you are and what you like.

"Layered Perry Vocals and overdubs?" What? That is what you do on a solo record. How the Hell can you replicate "Layered Perry vocals" in a live setting? Now I see why you love Raised on Radio so much. It is a Perry solo record.
