No you haven't. You have not heard BGTY on the radio in 10 years. It simply is a lie you are telling.

Nope, he's right Deano. Much as I'm chagrined to admit it, I, too, have heard songs (BGTY especially) from that turd on the radio in the past year. BUT, it ain't classic rock radio- it's that new JACK radio (at least that's what they call it around here) which is format-less. They'll play Journey, followed by the Fixx, then Coldplay, etc, etc...
I still say the album sucks though...

We've got Jack FM in Dallas too. They play what they want to play.

It's one of my favorites. I've said so many times on this board. In fact it and TBF are my two favorites and the #1 spot changes with my mood. Can't help it. I just know what sounds good to me. 8)

We all bought the albums and that is all the band/ Perry cares about. The ROR tour was huge $$$$. I still play them. Some songs are great and others are fillers. Any finger pointing/complaining at this point is long after those proceeds have been banked.

That's unfortunate that you think that's all they cared about. You never gave one thought about the guys getting laid, and that is just unfair!

HOLY HAND GRENADES! Deano! Are you alright? This board has been as boring as a Charlotte Bronte novel without you!

I enjoy ROR less, not so much because the songs weren't good - there were a few classics - but because of how Steve changed the sound and fired a great bassist and the best jazz drummer in the world. I shit my pants when I saw Randy Jackson out there looking like a David Zimmerman painting...there was no 'net back then, so you kind of found things out via the grapevine (and since I had only nerd friends and couldn't get a date to save my life in the 80's, I was as "out of the loop" as George H. and the Iran-Contra affair) or you saw it with your own eyes. Now that closet drag queen is primping himself up as a "contributing member" of Journey...

Anyway, it was a good record, but I'm still a little bitter about it...when he called off the ROR tour, and packed the band in...that was a terrible day. I remember seeing something on MTV News with that dipweed Kurt Loder, and just being floored.

Very true.

Now that we know that more than half of the MR residents love ROR,I have to say that these threads have been SO damn funny, that we would need a Poll on the best jokes! :o

Thanks all for the huge laughs...Some new classics were born today! :D

I do NOT see where that is funny at all.Stop and think he had lost his mom and he was burnt form all the touring.I guess you just can't understand what he was going throu. I have said it before & will once again say it. You have NOT walked in his shoes so till you do.SHUT UP & leave him alone pick on some of the other guys.

I agree Jeremy - and most AOR bands were going in this direction too, as you say. Heart, Rush, Kansas, Don Henley, Genesis, Chicago, REO....the list goes on. Although Boston were one of the few melodic rock groups who kept their guitar sound to the fore, the drums on Third Stage had such a synthetic quality to them compared to their 70s albums.

Love the album. I know it's 'poppy' - but I enjoy most of the tracks on it.

Hate the stage clothes.

And every time I see that polka dot guitar, I want to wrap it round Randy Jackson's ample arse.

But Susie - no-one looked that stylish in the mid-80s did they? I speak as a former proud owner of a mullet, of course.

Just for the record,Deano.I said HALF of the fanbase likes ROR,not 80%.That procent was in reference to the content of the album.
Also this Poll will not reflect the fanbase's opinion, but the MRers residents.

So will it be 50-50 here,or not?I'm really curious.

No cheating please.Just one vote per member.

Well...so far 72% either love or like the album. Good work!

HOTS, honest question here. What are the odds of you posting a picture of yourself? I want to see if my visual of you, as described by Dean, is in the ballpark of your actual looks. There's really no downside. If you're as ugly as he says you are we could always put you on some perverted, sexual form of Fear Factor. But seriously, I'd like to see a picture if you don't mind.
