I think this is the first statement we've heard from Wolfie himself on the subject.

Unfortunately, it sounds like what Valerie ( or any mom for that matter) would want him to say.

Nah, the writing's on the wall. 8) We'll have had to wait about 6 mos longer than planned but at the end of the day, they will get it right and MA will be on bass opening night.

You could very well be right.

But if they DO ask Mikey to do it...I'd love for him to tell "the brothers" to fuck off.

Nah.
He's not completely stupid. A fall tour with the original 4 puts in on or at least VERY NEAR Stones/U2 level mega tour status.

I think it's bigger than the Rolling Bones because those guys have toured a half dozen times since 1984. VH was more popular than the Police in its heydey...this will be THE concert event of the year. That is, with the exception of Survivor and its new "vocalist", Robin McAuley.

Oh, I know Mike's not stupid. And I know he'll do it in a heartbeat. But after the way he's been treated, I'd just like to see him say "kiss my ass" instead of jumping at the chance...like Eddie knows he will.

MA doesn't seem to be the kinda guy that would talk to Ed like that. Has MA ever been mad at anyone? If he has he doesn't show it.

Mike, Sammy, and Dave come out of this fiasco smelling like roses. The brothers Van Halen come out of it just smelling.

You know he has. Hell, if you've seen the snippet from Sammy's book (and I'd love if it had been published; from what I saw it would be very entertaining), MA got royally screwed. MA just has a bit more class (IMO) than to trash people in public. I wish other bands and their band members would do that, too.

A 16 year old boy saying he's too young to tour with a rock band?

If Eddie comes out of all this clean and sober, I believe everyone will be willing to erase his foolish mistakes and start with a clean slate. But if he doesn't get sober, he's pretty much going to become a washed-up has-been.

And it's exactly what Valerie should be telling him to say if she's a parent that hasn't lost her marbles.

Good vibes, man. Just keep sendin' 'em. It's gonna happen, and I'm gonna be in the front row, raising my (plastic) glass to Dave, Eddie, the bass player*, and even Alex, and rockin' my ass off, watchin' ol' #1 doin' his thing.

When I was a 16 year old lad, I would have given a right bollock to go out on tour with a famous rock band.... though....not sure about a band with my Dad and Uncle in it, though they are reasonably cool guys.

And in the process took up a lifestyle (the rock and roll lifestyle including most of its vices) no parent would want for their teenage kid.

Well most parents would keep their teenage kids wrapped in cotton wool and never let them do anything if they could.

Doesn't seem to have done Schon much harm.

Ok, I'll put it this way. Any parent that would let their fifteen year old kid tour with a band that has a history of alcohol, drug, and sex issues is probably negligent. The fact that the father of the kid is in the band and is the one with the biggest problems only adds to the equation.

It looks like common sense finally took hold.

'Sex issues'???

Any 16 year old kid is gonna have sex issues.....as in they can't get enough!!

Look, I don't neccesarily disagree with what you say - it certainly wouldn't be the healthiest environment for a lad his age in a psychological sense, but then the world of rock and roll is all he knows isn't it? Surely it would be 'normal' to him?

Of course sex issues. David Lee Roth was and maybe still is one of the most promiscuous people in rock. Nobody exuded sexuality it rock quite like Dave. I'm sure the rest of the band had their moments as well.

I'm sure Wolfgang knows all about the world of rock and roll. Still, that doesn't mean he should be thrust into a situation where the temptations are far beyond his ability to cope.

There are bad things everywhere. Wolfie lives in Beverly Hills and I'm sure there are a lot of sex and drugs there so unless Wolfie is a hermit he's going to be exposed to those things anywhere.

Being the son of a famous rocker with lots of cash and a mother of somewhat holloywood fame, I am guessing Wolfie already has the Tang chasing after him.

As far as drugs and alcohol, I am sure he has seen enough at home to make him a veteran.

By the way have you all seen Valerie on the new Jenny Craig commercials? Wow! She blew up!
