Jackie Robinson

I'm listening to ESPN right now and they're talking about Jackie Robinson breaking into bsaeball 60 years ago. I was sickened to learn that Major League Baseball decided to have Jesse Jackson present for tonight's ceremonies. Are you serious? The guy who makes a living off of making sure black people feel their rights are constantly being violated and that all white people are bad. I will not be watching the game tonight because I'll puke when Jackson is shown. This man has done more to keep blacks and whites divided than David Duke. At least that asshole has been out of the limelight for years. People are afraid of Jesse Jackson and I don't know why. He's an opportunistic, race-hustler and a real piece of shit. He's done nothing for black people but keep a huge lot of them bitter and resentful. Then again, if he didn't he'd be out of a job.

The thing that bothers me most about the Imus situation is that, however boring and acrimonious he has become, the man has raised over $100 million for excellent causes and has devoted much of his life savings and time into helping children with cancer. Those children are now in danger of losing the medical care they so desperately need. Instead of stopping short of demanding his termination, and allowing Imus to continue to help give hope where there was none...it's so disgusting and self-serving. I wonder if Alfred Sharpton and Jessica Jackson really thought this through. My best friend commited suicide because he was harassed so much about his race (he was the only non-white kid at an exclusive boarding school for four years), and I am very supportive of weeding the racists and the bigots out of positions of influence...I'm a social liberal, so this is not an angry white guy with a vendetta.

getting back to Jackie Robinson, if I may get back on topic...

He was an important figure in Professional baseball, though not TRULY the first black player in Pro ball, he along with Branch Rickey brought down the color barrier in pro sports, but especially the sport I love the most. (Boring as it is for some others). I'm glad that MLB is keeping his legacy alive, though I don't agree with Jackson being brought in. Baseball is over the racial barrier, the "real world" needs to get over it too. Especially the blacks in this country.

We are without a doubt destined to live in the past until all people of all races and colors are able to see past color and move forward into the future together as one people.

Sadly this is very true. We're all pretty much stuck in purgatory. Because as long as people are going to bitch about things that happened way in the past, nothing will get solved. There will always be race issues, because one side or the other can't stop whining about something.

There's pornography on the internet? Since when? This has to be stopped before it gets "out of hand"!

Who are these "people"?! The only person anyone can change is the one you live with 24/7. It all starts there.
