No way. Did you listen to it? He said Lukather and the Porcaros come over his house and watch Wolfie kick his ass when they play together. And Eddie said real musicians know that he (Eddie) is really a rhythm guitarist.
Voyager wrote:Eddie dissed Michael Anthony pretty bad in this audio interview, saying that he never supplied any rhythm to the band. Ed went on to say now that they they have Wolfie on bass, they finally have a rhythm section. WTF??? That would be like Alex Lifeson saying that Geddy Lee never supplied rhythm for Rush. That's insane. You cannot go much lower than to say the guy never did his job in the band. I doubt that Michael Anthony will ever be able to look at Eddie with any respect after this.
Michael Anthony may have been honest on several occasions about Eddie's drinking problem, but he would never take away from the legacy of Eddie's musical contribution to the band Van Halen and to the world of music. I don't know anyone who could honestly say that Michael Anthony didn't provide a solid rhythm section for Van Halen, not to mention his unique background vocal capabilities. He's every bit as good of a bass player as Alex Van Halen is a drummer.
As the Van Halen World Turns. (Or should I say "stops" turning again?)
