Anyone else catch this little tidbit from Jeff at BT?

I've been offline for a few weeks and decided to catch up on all the different forums.
I found a thread in BT where someone made the suggestion that, since Jeff is
pretty close with the Queen guys, Journey should do a few gigs or tour with Queen.

Jeff actually replied:
"Already a thought from our side, it will be pursued along with other ideas next year I am sure"

So what would you all think?
I think it would be cool as long as some of the shows were here in the states
and ticket prices weren't outrageous. A full-on tour would be a pretty incredible event...
except that Journey would HAVE to bow down to being an openning band again. Major downfall for
those of us that want a big Journey spectacle in 2008. But it would be pretty interesting...

And the possibility Jeff and Paul singing "Under Pressure" together...
That alone would be worth the price of admission
Any thoughts???

The bigger draw as the closer? Sadly, probably not.
Where Queen is and always will be held as veritable Legends (even w/o Freddie),
Journey will always be stuck in that "Not Cool" category. I don't agree with it but
I think that's how most would perceive a bill like this, especially in the UK.

An entire tour wouldn't work for me, at least.
But I think the possibilty of a few Stadium dates together would be great.
If people voted the Journey/DL package as the most creative of this past year,
a Queen/Journey package would knock their socks off.

That's kinda funny because Queen didn't really have a lot of credibility here in the U.S. until after Freddie's death AND when "Bohemian Rhapsody" became a hit again thanks to "Wayne's World".

the enormous credit/respect he deserved as a songwriter/vocalist/showman until his untimely death. And that is unfortunate becase he deserved to be treated that way in life.

I wouldn't mind seeing em with other great bands

It was a disaster. I personally loved it. However, unfortunately, I think Neal and Jon figured there were more Journey fans than there really are. They had to go solo on that tour. They started out with big crowds, because they started out in LA. Notice the 3 hour show was quickly down to 2? Well, we know why now. No way would Jeff sign on for that. No fucking way.

It was ok to see that. Seeing Mystery Mountain, Patiently, and Daydream was cool, but that was a once in a lifetime thing.

At this point,I am telling you if enough $$$ are involved, it will happen. These guys are looking for more sales in Europe whether through tickets or cd's,especially at their age. I don't think ego or pride enters their visions at this time in their lives. I think Neal mentioned that they have overtoured the U S or taking a yr off in the U. S. If you ask me he has had this plan since Jeff joined and now they have an offer. Jeff is extremely popular in Europe. Live with it.

The UK press often slated Queen.
In the beginning they got some real stick.
Then when they did Live Aid and stole the show, suddenly their popularity soared. I'd say Live Aid was the turning point for them. What do you think, Matthew?
And when Freddie died, they were elevated even higher. And of course, many of the journos who had slated them became the ones heaping most praise on them.

Their live show with Freddie was always a great night out.
