Just got home about 30 mins ago. The surgery wasn't a success, it was a resounding success. Had the ultrasound this morning. Doctor sits down and says, "the only thing we need to see are two heartbeats." Boom, first thing we see, two heartbeats. However, the little guy who was having his supply line stolen from his bigger brother, is now peeing much more, substantially more. This means he is receiving his adequate blood supply. His bladder, unable to be seen yesterday, is substantially bigger. Everything has turned out perfectly.

I have to tell you people, from our perspective, you have no idea how important all of your words have meant to us. Seriously, this thread literally kept me in the game yesterday, as I didn't have a lot of dry eye time the past 2 days. This is the most emotional time I have ever experienced.

To everybody here, from Andrew to HOTS; regardless of our Journey brawls, I am so very thankful, as is Lula. This place is a genuine communtiy and we are glad to be a part of it. I do fear now, that I won't be able to slay or slaughter people anymore. I can't cuss HOTS out now...no way. I can't tell Moondog she is an illiterate donut muncher! No. I can say though, that if anyone here ever needed help, I would be amongst the first in line to offer to help.

From our hearts to yours, "Thank You."

Wow! I am overwhelmed by the love here. It has been two of the scariest weeks of my life, from diagnosis to surgery. I have felt the support from the get go. We were very fortunate to be referred to Dr. Chmait, a leader in his field and now Dr. Sklansky, head of fetal cardiology at Children's Hospital, Los Angeles. Our boys are fighters. Dean had the situation reversed- the donor baby is the small one. He was not keeping his blood, but 'transfusing' it to the recipient, larger baby.

Though the playoffs continue and names are not final, I've been calling them Wyatt and Trevor. Wyatt (donor) means little warrior and Trevor (recipient) means prudent ;).

The surgery was under 2 hours and I was awake. I was able to see the boys in 3d. Truly an amazing experience. The next 4 weeks will tell a lot. We expect to see Wyatt increase his fluid, which he has already begun doing. In 5 weeks we will see Dr. Sklansky and check Trevor's heart. There are abnormalities, but may very well correct itself. All symptons of TTTS.

Dean and I are so appreciative to have your kindness in our lives. We have been through a lot in a short period of time and are so lucky to have one another and y'all. Thank you so much!

Bet you are knackered, aren't you? Knackered but relieved? Both of you.
And yet you still find time to post on here.
That shows what great people you are - and that's why you both received all the love & positive vibes from people on here who don't know you personally.
You reap what you sow.
Stay strong, stay positive and everything will work out fine.

Dean and Lula,

I'm so happy to hear this great news! All 4 of you guys have been on my mind and in my thoughts and prayers the last few days.

I'm new to this community but have been a friend, I hope anyway, to Lula for several years and have grown to love her.

Lu, I'm amazed you were awake and able to see your babies in 3d! Of course they're fighters..just take a look at Mom! LOL This technology blows me away..thank God you were able to find these 2 fantastic doctors.

Continued well wishes and blessings to you all,
Bonnie

Bonnie, welcome!! You have absolutely been a friend, silly! Reno.... whiskey.... ;) I'm glad you are here. Seeing those two little babies like that blew me away. I had to remain still though and that was hard. Now I need to go back to bed. Susie is right- I am knackered.

Ask Dean how I've often told him in pm's to treasure you as someone he needs in his life. He and I are both a couple of characters on this board and if either of us changes too much, something will be lost.
As a Daddy, he may have to clean up his act somewhat or social services will get on him but if he's too nice, I will have to behave also and I have too much fun being nasty to these guys. I really don't think that they want me any other way, anyway.
I've read of some wonderfully, positive results from what modern medicine has accomplished for these babies and it appears that you are in the best of hands. Best regards!
