Oh man, new day after stress week, and I am escaping reality.

Calgary Flames= Disgraceful act. Embarrassment. Not for losing, but for their cowardice act of crap displayed by basically everyone on their team, especially theit backup goalie, Jamie McLennan. He is gone now, game misconduct and probably another few games thrown in on top of that.

I hope Detroit smokes them 9-0 in Calgary. Fucking embarrassment.

Jersey is in Florida. Will they get it done tonight? I say NO> Game 7 in Jersey, 3-3.

Will Vancouver get it done in Big D? I say YES to this one. Luongo doesn't lose 2 in a row too often. Canucks beat Dallas tonight, 3-1.

Oh PS, ---Drinking big time tonight. I have 22 beers. All are going to see the inner walls of my Pecker tonight.

Har har har, nice use of colors. I missed a good chunk of the 3rd period, so I missed that. But I hear ya, I was even pissed at Iggy...... and I'm never pissed at Iggy! The boys are getting pissed, Detroit keeps shoving players into Kipper, they want him out of there. Rudy Kelly even commented on that the last couple games.

Good luck Deano. I'm not much of a hockey fan, but the only team I do follow in a small degree is Dallas. I'm glad you are kicking back and taking a break. I know it's had to have been a hell of a month for you, but we are all pulling for you bro.

And getting hammered with ya.

I was happy the Wings won today but I won't be to bummed
if they end up getting beaten out by a Canuck team.

I be sitting fireside again tonight but you can be
damn sure I'll be coming in the house every so often
to see what kind of an ass your making of yourself Dean'o.
You got some catching up to do Sir, I've had 8 beers so far.

Dude I went out to run errands after the Wings started smoking them. I was listening on the radio when they brought in McLennan and seconds later he's 2 handing our guys. After that I was hoping the Wings would send someone to run Kipper. I mean run him through his own net and into the endboards! 2 can play that game. Oh of course do this after taking out Hasek and putting in Ozzie. What's embarrassing is how they leave their balls at the saddledome! Sure the Wings lost 2 there but both games went to the horn we didn't get smoked away from Hockeytown. I'm hating Calgary right about now! Homers!!! The Flames are a bunch of little bitches on the road. Laying down like 2 bit whores! What a joke they are!

This just in (sort of):

Calgary Flames goaltender Jamie McLennan has been suspended five games, coach Jim Playfair has been fined $25,000 and the organization has been fined $100,000 for a variety of actions in Game 5.

He didn't "lose" it. He was sent in by Playfair to deliberately injure a Wing, and/or get some to retaliate, and get a game misconduct. That is punk bullshit hockey/ coaching. Calgary should have been fined more than a 100K. I am shocked no Red Wing went over and shoved their stick down his throat, get some lumber in his teeth; although they showed good discipline in NOT doing so...as that was Calgarys' purpose. Way the tarnish the sport Calgary.

Turn on Versus in 2 mins...they do a good job of explaining the game. Detroit is at Calgary. Should be a helluva game, lots of seething players looking to crack on somebody.

Beats the Hell out of basketball.

It's a cable channel that the NHL has to use, because their lockout 2 years ago, screwed the ESPN contract up and cast them to Versus. Look for it. On now.

I was kinda worried that the year off was going to just damn near kill this sport, but it's stronger than I thought. You're right, all red.

Tarnish the sport? A little mellodramatic there big guy? Not excusing it at all, especially Jamie, but even Rudy Kelly annoucer on "Hockey Night in Canada" mentioned how much Detroit has been pushing our players and themselves into Kipper. Wouldn't be where we are without him and they know it. Frustration is high. Highly doubt Playfair wanted that happening. :? Jamie's behaviour was punkish and they are paying for it.

Now........back to my sea of red. :D

Yep, especially when the lead story on the playoffs are of McLennan going Paul Bunyan on a Wing player.

My ex thought Cleon Daskalasis and Bob "Gets By" Doak were hot. What was she smoking?

For those of you who weren't Bruins fans in the 80's (yes, I have dual alliances), Bob Doak was a "slightly less than average" defenseman. The radio and TV guys doing the commentary were oft heard to remark, "Lemieux...gets by Doak! Shoots...scores!" Et cetera.

Ancillary subject...what are your favourite nicknames for some of the less talented athletes in the four major sports (or "sports" life golf and bowling if you're a loser). Some of mine are:

Baseball: Lonnie "Skates" Smith (lousy fielder) and Ross "Gross" Grimsley (a starting pitcher who would never shower unless he lost).
Football: Elvis "Toast" Patterson
Hockey: see above
Basketball: Ken "The Animal" Banniser (rather hairy and smelly "power" forward for the Knicks)
