Highlight of the night was when they dedicated "Can't Tame the Beaver" to AR.

They actually dedicated "Sweet and Simple" to The Annex first on stage. Awesome version too.

Hey everyone!

Great to see all of you again last night! We had a blast, but the hours in that place are killer. Got about 3.5 hours of sleep last night & then on the road first thing this morning as Chad was on call for work this morning. Looking forward to seeing everyone again next weekend!!

Here's a bunch of pics from last night: SANTA FE CAFE PICS

And HERE'S an .mp3 of "Sweet and Simple" from last night, since you mention it, Ed!

Hopefully I'll have some more audio clips up later in the week. See you all next time!

Cool stuff. J took the time to show me where they were recording from. The Santa Fe Cafe is a really strange set up to see a band. The stage is really high up and maneuvering around in the upstairs reminds me of the Spinal Tap scene where no one could find the stage. Hilarious! Also as Jeremey said it is a very late start.

That said, the people that run the place were cool and the show was awesome! Moose - log on and post the pic of all of us we took before the show. Moose was slick. Came down to the bar and started talking before letting on who he was. Once he came clean I recognized him from his mypace pic. Good to meet you bro!

See everyone next Saturday!

Hey all! I had a great time meeting up with you folks!

During the intermission, while you all went upstairs, (or wherever the hell you went) the bar became inundated with 18-19 year olds. In my advanced age, I have no patience for that stuff. Plus, we had a long day… my kids had baseball games in the morning and then we had the long drive. By 1AM, I feel like a fucking pumpkin. I was toast at that point. Sorry to depart so soon.

Nonetheless…it made my day to meet all of you! Long overdue.

Nice chatting with you Sabrina. Sorry I didn’t get to meet Jeremy, but maybe next time!

NIG, you are so right…Jeremy is way beyond any accolades I could possibly give him! He is awesome!

Duke, AR and wife (even though we didn’t actually speak to each other... hope you feel better), Sting, Sunshine (and hubby)….I am thrilled to have met you peeps!

I went to my first game at Camden Yards today...great staduim! However, I got the sense that I was too loud…the “Philly” coming out in me. We sat behind home plate…and a foul pop went over our heads…when the dude dropped it, I screamed “YOU SUCK”. The crowd didn’t seem to get my humor. Baltimore is too nice I guess!

Anyway, nice meeting you folks!

That's funny, cuz I only had 3 or 4 beers, then switched to water for the drive home. Far from even buzzed. Just being goofy. Joe never seemed drunk at all, either.

Now, stingthebeerdrinker... that's another story!

I can attest to that - NIG was definitely being responsible Saturday. Ed & his bro did, however, get us started on a King Diamond sing-a-long backstage after the show though! Sorry, guys - My falsetto was toast after 2.5 hours of Journey!!

Thanks, Shania! We haven't played that song in about 2 years and we just whipped it back out during sound check to see how it would sound. Not sure if we'll keep it in the setlist, cause it is such a deep track, but it's one of my favorites to sing as well.

The stage is nuts. If you get to load in too late, you have to carry all the equipment through the dungeon-like kitchen and through several corridors in the back, up 2 flights of stairs and back down a spiral staircase to the stage. We try to get there before the dinner crowd so we can get some of the guys there to help us just lift it up from the front of the stage. I'm sure Mike can attest to the fact that it is odd being so far away from the audience like that! My biggest fear up there is pulling a Kelsey Grammer and ending up in a wheelchair. Definitely not a good stage for tap dancing.

 I got tired just reading that!
I suppose it's an old pub/venue,maybe renovated?...I mean who would make access so complicated nowadays? Also, the stage itself is unusual, maybe it was built for other types of shows - I'm thinking of things that don't require to much moving around.
I can sure understand the fear of falling off that stage.God forbid.

You should keep S & S,Jeremey,or at least play it more often. You sing it beautifully!

No Jager for me!!! I was reasonably straight as well, until about 2:30, then I hammered down one last Red Bull & GG backstage, that one did me in!! Navigating those stairs was a bit rough! But at least I didn't fall!! LOL

Thank God NIG was driving AR and stingtheebeerdrinker home, because the cops were EVERYWHERE!!!

Wish I could make it next Saturday, but Sam has a gig that night.

I tried to leave you guys a note in the dressing room, but the management couldn't guarantee it would be there after I left.
It sounds like you guys had a great time, and from the MP3's you guys sounded FANTASTIC!!
I really wish I could have been there.I too have a gig next Saturday, so I won't be able to make the Arlington show.Jeremey, you are going to have to send me your dates a few months in advance so I can be sure to catch one of your shows!!Generally, the staff helps us lift the gear on the stage.
Don't know if you knew that, but next time you are there ask if they can give you guys a hand.
I don't think it should be a problem, the management and staff there are pretty cool!!

The stage at Santa Fe IS weird. It is so high up off the floor you are literally 10 feet in the air, and it does suck to be THAT far from the audience. I had the same fear of tripping and face planting off of the stage, and end up being a quadraplegic!!

It was GREAAAAT, NIG!!
The place was PACKED. One of the waitress actually told me she was glad, but pissed that we were there Saturday, because she had been there all day and wasn't in the mood to fight the crowd they were expecting.2 great gigs this weekend NIG, and at both places the management was great to us.
It's always appreciated when the management and staff is cool, and don't act like they are doing you a favor when you play there.
I know Jeremey can relate to that.I KNOW they bring a crowd when they play.

The pictures should be on the website in the archives section in the next day or so.
BTW, LOTS of good looking women there and to quite Neal "which was very pleasing on the eyes".
