Absolutely agree.Only from seeing the videos and hearing the speeches,I could tell that during the entire ceremony the hatchet was buried. :)
It was a happy time for all.

Right. It was genuine emotion being shown between them all...but, I don't think the hatchet was buried. They still haven't spoken with each other again & SP was not happy about the band supposedly promoting the "possibility of SP showing up at any one of the concerts in 2005"...guess they will never all speak to each other again. :(

I agree with you.It would be great to see them together again but i don't feel that it will happen.I however wish they would get together and work it out between them.

Whenever I think back on that day, I smile. It was just soooo magical. I was sad that Gregg wasn't there to share in the lovefest, but it was still one of the most amazing days ever. I had tears in my eyes when the guys were all standing there together. What a happy, happy day that was. :D

I know the whole event has to be so much more emotional for you than for fans like us. It was part of your life.

I'm sure it was a very magical day for you, Lora. Like Sherrie said, even more so for you than for all of us. And believe me, it was an awesome day for me as well as a group of my friends..we talk often about wishing we could experience that entire weekend again...it was perfect, just perfect.

We got there at about 8 in the morning before they even set up the barricade.
I figured there would be a million people there already but there were only about 20-30 diehards cranking out the classics on a boombox.
The worst part was once we got our prime spot, the media set up in fornt of us a blocked most of our view.

I really think Steve showed a lot of class and humility by thanking Herbie (with all of the crap between them),the road crew, and to The Journey Force (actually he thanked Lora, Tim and Cyndi by name), and saying that the star really belonged to the fans, because they are what made the band. Even though I only got to talk to SP for a brief few seconds, it is a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life.I am really fortunate. Not many people get to thank their childhood heroes or those that had such a big impact on their lives. My only wish is that I could have gotten a picture with him.

Steve Perry REALLY and TRULY changed my life.
Without getting into much of my childhood or personal life, his lyrics, vocal delivery, and positive influence, gave an insecure, unhappy and sad little kid, the hope and possibility, that I could overcome anything that came at me and helped to shape my confidence and belief in myself all of those many, many years ago.

He is and always will be my hero and biggest musical influence.Steve really set the standard for vocalists of that era and genre.Even after all of these years he is still regarded as a legend even though he hasn't recorded anything in almost a decade.I know his family was looking down on him and being very proud of his accomplishments.
It just goes to show you what a truly powerful thing music is.

LOL!!!Not a LOON. I still continue to follow the band, and have HIGH regard for those that came after him, NIGGY!! Especially JSS!!
Perry had the same influence on me as Brooks Robinson did, just at a different time in my life.

OK, but as soon as you refer to the band as sidemen, you're outta here.

Hoo Hoo Hoo
8)
What an event it was.
The air was charged with anticipation
The shadows were transformed with each second
as the rays of light slowly engulfed the crowd in it's brilliance
Like a radiant beacon illuminting the magic that would unfold.
The streets were alive with a growing hum of cresendo
Then like a wave crashing upon the shore
Steve Perry did appear
And you could feel the power beneath you
pulling you to the center between existance
Surrounded by a sea of estatic screams of adulation....
This was only the beginning...
So sweet was the savoring of every single moment.
The day that time stood still!
