OT: AI performances

Postby Wheels Of Fyre » Thu Apr 26, 2007 8:18 pm

I can't believe I don't see any AI threads yet! I'll start one.

WOW! Jeff Beck and Kelly Clarkson! WOW! WOW! WOW! Kelly is and always will be a favorite idol for me. I SWEAR - when I heard her audition I KNEW she was going to win it (unlike my gal Perla who BOMBED - thanks, amiga!).

Beck was just INCREDIBLE. So cool to hear that tone of his. With Kelly I was reminded of how Neal and Steve would "duet" - guitar and voice. Kelly is bigger - fatter than ever - but she carries it well. She's more beautiful in my eyes. Her voice is so dynamic. Beyond AI I don't know much about her. Is she a Janis Joplin fan? I've always heard Janis in her but last night it was like Janis was channeling through her. It was spooky. She can be smooth and gentile in one breath and a emoting powerhouse in the next. She should do a Joplin tribute album with Beck.

Annie Lennox was also outstanding. She just WAILS. Her's was the best version of Bridge Over Troubled Water I've ever heard.

Josh G. did a fine job with the African children's choir. Very sweet. ALl of thos elittle, toothless faces were adorable.

Rascal Flatts (two T's?) didn't do much for me. I liked their song but I wasn't captured.

Earth, Wind, and Fire "opened" the show with a cool medley. Nice job! They broke the ice and set the proper tone for the show.

The Celine D. and Elvis duet was super cool! Very, very fun and inventive!

Well, that's my take. It's the best AI show ever in my book. I'm glad I took the time to watch it.

The Garden of Eden can't be found on a map. It's not a geographical location. It's right where you are - if you're in the spirit.

Clarkson sounded like she discovered how to sing with some soul, but the performance didn't do much for me. It did leave me wondering - does Jeff Beck age?

Lennox fell flat with me. I didn't like that arrangement.

Rascall Flatts sounds like they always do - just like the CD.

The Celine-Elvis duet was really cool. Highlight of the show's entire history to me.

And Ben Stiller's rendition of LRB's Reminiscing brought tears to my eyes.

Thanks Niggy. :D That was cool. Kind of spooky though. Like that commercial where they had Chris Reeve walking.

He also brushes them 100 strokes before bed, kind of a tribute to Marsha Brady.

Hard to say, it is really hard to count them below the nutsack and above the ass crack. So my count might have been off by a few.

Saw the last part of the show.So dose anyone know how they had Elvis there? It was like he was on stage with them.I know it was taken from his 69 show. It was so wild even when they showed his back. ELVIS is and will always be the KING OF ROCK!!!!!!!!

Like EW&F, Josh Groban, and the Elvis part of the Celine/Elvis duet.

I cannot stand Annie Lennox and thought she massacred that song. Same for Celine. Fingernails on a chalkboard.

And Ben Stiller and Jack Black were hilarious!

Some of the highlights are on Itunes for download. The cost goes to the charity. :D

Say they will be adding more over the next few days. I think the Staying Alive segment was hilarious, as well as, Ben Stiller and Jack Black.

That Elvis performance with Celine freaked me out. That was amazing. What a hard show to watch, though. I really hope all of the money raised does some good in Africa. It seems like money has been pouring over there for decades and nothing changes. I'm sue most of the money never even gets to those who need it. I'd love to see them revisit this in a year to see the impact this has made. That would be inspiring.

It was very hard to watch. Seeing the poverty levels there and even in this country, makes whatever problems you may have in your life, seem tiny. Sure does make you wake up and be thankful for what you have.

Its been great all year!! Love Hawkins, his risk taking skills are amazing!! The 64,000,000 question, will Hawkins be able to use his bomb on New Bern??? If he does
will it end the series??

I wish I only had 10 pubes. It would make things much cleaner. Unfortunately it is a jungle down there. By the way, I prefer women who trim down but do not shave. Shaving is ruining porn. Women should have hair down below as long as it doesn't smell.
