This guy puts on a GREAT show! Another performer (like JSS) that gets into the music he's singing. :D

Silly Love Songs by Paul McCartney and Wings and 65 Love Affair by Paul Davis I think. Reminds me of going to see the Orioles at old Memorial Stadium in the 70's and 80's on a Saturday afternoon. Those songs seemed to be played constantly in between innings. Good memories.

Whatever floats your boat.... 8)
If I did a soul search thru my youth
The first song that really spoke to me...

The drama
the sweet voice & the melodic tones
as a young child it haunted me...
I was always an old soul....

Here's another one that has been on my mind lately - my childhood in the 60s...the group that was the inspiration for "The Partridge Family":

God, Shadow, is that song that old?? Loved the Mamas and the Papas; loved this tune, too, remember very well where I was first time I heard it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZRQ3BUCd1M

Forgot how much I love George Harrison...

Great song!
I appreciate George Harrison
Though I must admit as a child I rebelled against the mass hysteria
& proclaimed I didn'tmuch care for the Beatles....

Lil Darelin....Her Comes the Sun...
Can't argue with that...
The song males me want to sing & smile!

Never heard that one before
A nice love ballad
Guess what makes a great song is that which can speak to all of us...
& nothing speaks to us like love

OOOOH scared shadows....
Typical late 60's guitar riffs

Wang wang...

I had a few first discs & one of then was Cream.
Wonder what an 8 yo could make of it
I just liked the intense melodic drama...aks Melodrama...
which reminds me of this site....

Shadow, it's funny about you and the Beatles because Paul McCartney produced that Mary Hopkins' song for Apple Records... I vaguely remembered that and then checked to make sure... "Here Comes the Sun" came along at a time when everything on the news then was pretty bleak; that whole album made such an impact--I wonder if it was because of the times we were living in...

I bet you're right
but I was 8 & I can't help but remember
I Want To Hold Your Hand being played.
Frankly I could not comprehens what the Beatle craze was all about
I just think even then at a tender age
I hated to conform to public opinion
I wanted not to be like everyone else
I guess I was at the cusp of the 70's
& for some reason rebelling against all that communal liove peace & sex.
I was a kid abeit an intelligent child
still I can't be held accountable for the feelings of innocent child.

Wow...some really great music in this thread! Just seeing these was enough to take me back to the innocence!

This one is still a powerful emotional song for me...I instantly slip back in time when I hear it.

If this one comes up,I remember all the details of a Summer back in the 80s,being 16 and having a bunch of crazy friends, speeding on our bikes all day long  We all loved this song, although it wasn't '69!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpucUihZ4HE

This one is guaranteed to remind me of my first TV rock show in 1992...
This guy inspired me to host the show on the top of a mountain. The crew never forgave me.

Remember these girls? 8)

Oh,and this guy forever changed my mind about the music without words.
I remember hearing this in 1990 and thinking that he must be a survivor of the Roswell crash.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-zjnVmuTzs

Omg,I have to stop,I could spend all day on YouTube digging up the "way back" songs.
We had some great music back then...that's for sure.

Great thread,Deb!
