that song is about me. I really did get my 1st real 6 string, got it at the 5 and dime, played it til my fingers bled, (I can still feel the pain) and it really was the summer of '69!!!! BA was still in diapers in 69 so hush Brian. hehe

I love that song too, when I lived in Japan & the only TV we had to watch was the "Far East Network" (on an Air Force Base) they didn't have actual commercials, they would play music videos though, & this one with the Blue Angels was on all the time.

First concert 1966 or 67 and I've hated them ever since. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0sIJA8qY0E

Saw these guys around the same time. Do you recognize the host of this show? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTAcj9cJ ... ed&search=

These guys were on the bill with the Raiders. I tried to get a video of Hang on Sloopy but only found this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIjXjSm2iNY

I didn't really care about them when I went. It was just that they were the first British Invasion group to come to Omaha. My folks wouldn't let me take one of the bus trips to Chicago or KC to see the Beatles, so I was stuck with the Stones.

There were probably no more than about 600 - 800 people in the Omaha Civic Center Arena so we could all get pretty up close. That was the problem, they looked even nastier up close than they sounded. Dirty, rumpled clothes, greasy, nasty looking hair, and really bad skin. I'm glad I wasn't close enough for my sense of smell to be assaulted too. Image

Michael Landon?

Yeah, it's him and I think the host in the clip of the McCoys is a very young Dion Warwick.

I guess no other band beats what they're doing in that department.
And they have some great songs too that get the people up on their feet. 8)

I remember watching that show with the Go-Go dancers...love the pony dance.
Here's a song that I loved at 12 & still love...I had this 45 record along with the Partridge Family album...I believe those were the only two I owned (we were poor)...never knew what the singer looked like until now!

Silly Love Songs by Paul McCartney and Wings and 65 Love Affair by Paul Davis I think. Reminds me of going to see the Orioles at old Memorial Stadium in the 70's and 80's on a Saturday afternoon. Those songs seemed to be played constantly in between innings. Good memories.

Camden Yards sucks and Peter Angelos is the devil.

Those are two GREAT songs. They bring memories to mind, too and NOT of anything gay - not that there's anything wrong with that.
