A brand new song!

Postby heardonthestreet » Mon Apr 30, 2007 11:19 am

America’s Cup of Polo, the premier polo match commemorating the 400th Anniversary of the Jamestown settlement in Virginia, will be headlined by legendary rock band, Journey, connecting “The Journey that Changed the World” with the world-renowned band that is known for its deep catalog of hits and amazing reputation as a live band. America’s Cup of Polo, to take place on May 12, 2007, at Historic Morven Park in Leesburg in Loudoun County, Virginia, will feature a face-off between the top polo players of the United States and United Kingdom as well as, Journey’s highly anticipated performance. Along with performing their well-known tunes, the band will also be unveiling a brand new song during the international Polo competition.

Good Luck with your brand new song Journey. I really mean it.

Why not?

What do you know about the song, Dean?

Seems like a perfect opportunity to introduce one new song. I'll even let them use my nic. "Heard On The Street." Great song title.

Nevermind what I know, I am just saying that it may not be played, that's all. Then again, it might.

You won't hear anything here or anywhere for that matter, before May 12, but yes we are debuting a new song called Winds Of Freedom, a song written especially for & about Virginia. Jon & Neal knocked the core of it out while I was overseas, I will add & finish it up with some ideas as well & the song will debut that evening of the show.

HOTS, I never got to reply to what seemed to be a miscommunication or rather, something that was taken the wrong way, apolgoy for the comment slung...thanks for the sentiment on the new song, it's really cool actually!

Jeff, I do hope that this new song will either be included on the new cd, or at least be available on the net sometime after May 12th. Just the title alone has me thinking what it might be about. :D

Will Winds Of Freedom be on the album or something they just play live ala Dixie Highway or Have A Good Time?

My sentiment was sincere, Jeff. Jdk said it best when he said that the hardcore Journey fans wanted only Perry singing those songs. I hope that the songs from the new album will be songs that your fans will only want to hear you sing and make memorable.
The good that came of our crossed swords is that we met fine people because of it and I have a great deal of respect for some people here. Know that they are the best! You can have the rest, j/k

Sorry for my part in causing such a ruckus but damn, I think I'll miss it, lol.

Thanks for the info!
Makes me curious now...This new song,is it a rocker,a mid-tempo or a slow song?
If I get that right and it was written for the V-Tech :?: ,I would guess it's something emotional slow.I may be wrong with this assumption,tho...

JDK is wrong! I'm a hardcore fan and love having the opportunity to see a live show and hear my favorite band perform their music. I don't subscribe to the "Perry only" crap. There are multiple parts and sounds that are Journey.

At this point and until proven otherwise, going with the flow is only what Perry is getting up from the sofa to do after a long day consuming nachos and drinking diet soda.

Sounds like some cool lyrics about how the wind blew the ships across the water to freedom. Great song topic. I'm dying to hear it.

I'm a little concerned about the familiarity of the song title with "Winds Of March." It's certain not to be recognizable to general audiences but I groaned a little when I first read the title. Why not "Freedom Winds" or perhaps "Western Winds" - something a little less familiar to the catalog. I cringed when I first read "Still She Cries" on the TBF album, too.

Just giving you honest feedback!
