Here's a song that I loved at 12 & still love...I had this 45 record along with the Partridge Family album...I believe those were the only two I owned (we were poor)...never knew what the singer looked like until now!

I've always loved that song Silver, but not so much the Partridges.

Not what I expected at all. I thought the singer was black. I was way off. I do remember that song though. Thanks for that one.

Ya know, I lived those days and that stuff didn't sound good to me then any more than it does now. If this shit is what the Rolling Stone/R&RHOF thinks should be in the HOF, then Journey is better off not being there. Give me Jefferson Starship with Mickey Thomas anytime. So shoot me. Image

I used to love them, Deb! I saw them back in the mid 80's at Madison Square Garden, great show! The crowd got wild, they were ripping the cushions out of the seats and flinging them all over the place, some even landing on stage. I had nothing to do with that, of course. :P

I remember that too. My boyfriend at the time was into JP whereas I was there more for Bon Jovi. Vaguely remember rockin out to 'Runaway' in that cloudy haze of an arena.

I remember Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden talking about touring with Judas Priest back in the 80s and saying that seeing Priest live was like a "mechanized assault". That's probably what happened to Bon Jovi on that tour.

Thanks, Shania...I love the music of the 50s-60s...I think the 80s skipped over me 'cuz not much grabbed me. Here's another group I like, they had lots of great songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHLbBXwW ... ed&search=

And, this one I believe is the first song I remember singing to - had to search for who the group was: http://youtube.com/watch?v=x6vjaf_oSuw& ... ed&search=

I like Herman's Hermits too, but I liked that particular song better by The Hollies. That New Beats song was sort of a curiosity when it first came out but before long it was like nails on a blackboard to me. Image
