BON JOVI definitely. Rent their last live dvd. Pretty blatant especially in Living on a Prayer.

The whispers about Jovi are not new at all.

I mean, hell now they have an army on stage (2nd guitar player, extra keyboard player ...). It's not rocket science what they're playing.

The one Shaw Blades show I saw was a better show than any Styx show I've seen in the past few years. Tommy has fun with Styx, but there was a marked difference in the SB show in his attitude.

wow allan,, cant believe a styx fan said that , but i know what your talking about ,, another one of my fav bands has played basically the same songs for the past 12 or so years.. but for styx,, me being a fan of the singles only, i loved the last few tours...

Not only do I have no desire to see Def Leppard, I have less desire to see a 75 minute hits set from Styx. I've heard 'em a million times live at this point. As a fan, I'll most likely catch 'em after a new album when they're more likely to play 3 - 4 new tracks.

Here's the deal ... since 1978 Styx really hasn't changed the core of their sets. I was too young in the 80s, although when they were originally going to play Philly on the KWH tour, my parents were going to take me but Tommy smashed his hand.

I didn't see them live until 1991 on the EOTC tour, and have seen nearly every tour since. Once they hit past 2001 or so, the sets just got boring - especially since they lost some of the diversity that came with playing DDY songs other than "Lady", "Grand Illusion", and "Come Sail Away". They play it safe. I wish they would do what Journey does and throw some nuggets in. Don't get me wrong - they're decent live and still sound OK (although I like Gowan on Gowan songs, not DDY ones). They were also better with Glen than RIcky, but that's a whole other issue I have (Ricky changes the feel of certain songs not in a good way).

Trust me, if the public knew the shit they pull live, they would be history. They are awful.

Hmmm. :? I watched the boot of Lep's show in Bmore last year and they sounded awful. Elliott sounds like a frog.

You got that right. Who knows .. I might not be able to make it this time around if I can't get affordable ticket prices.

That sucks.. :?
Understandable though, we are only catching one show this year.

I know I'm really bummed. I enjoy going on road trips - its more about meeting up with friends than it is about the band anymore.. but these kinds of prices are outrageous for these bands.

Stones are tied for my favorite band, but I think we can thank them for kicking down the door for all bands to try to price gouge now. Started with the A Bigger Bang tour.

Every concert should have many tickets, if only the bad seats, accessible to all for reasonable $50 and below prices.

word, chicas. prolly just the woodlands and Dallas for me. ILAA anyway. I had thought about Tampa just to catch another of my favorite bands  and hang with my sistahs but we'll have to see. Vegas for my birthday is pretty attractive. I'm gonna hold out cuz I think our guys will come up with something. :D and we don't want to be overcommited.

I bid on and won Los Lonely Boys tix for may 19 and I have Mercy Me for --May 19 (uh oh). So, I guess we'll have to spend our time with other "guys" til our Journey gets the album done.

Why? its not medical care or food or a basic need. Its a luxury to go see these classic bands or any band for that matter, you want it bad enough you'll pay and they know it. 8) People pay $37 for a carton of cigarettes; little pieces of paper rolled around herbs and garbage that make you sick.

I realize you're out of your tree, but you ENJOY being gougued for things that go up in price 400%?

yes just came down for a drink out of the river, you are nutinfutz....anyway, no I don't personally like being gouged for anything but they can charge whatever they want and get away with it especially when gas is $4 a gallon and they have like a million trucks to haul around he country, pay employees, lighting, venues, costumes, sound guys to tamper with the vocals, buy drugs, trash hotel rooms, I mean it gets expensive! $$$$$ :x

did you know that face value for tix in the first 5 rows at stones shows are only $99? i've seen people be disappointed initially when they get those tix, assuming they'll be crappy seats. what a pleasant surprise when they find out they've got killer seats AND they saved $300!

i don't like styx, i'm indifferent about def lep, but i'm curious about foreigner - heard good things about them.

I still think a chica trip to Florida is necessary. I know two girls who already have a hotel room booked at the Hard Rock in Tampa! 8)

You used the words "only" and "$99" in the same sentence talking about the same seats that were $50 on Licks 2 years prior to Bang. 200% increase.

I realize YOU'RE loaded  , I pull down more coin than I can spend  but a lot of normal fans who used to be able to go to the shows can't afford the shit.

I rolled w/ the $180s for the Stones, through gritted teeth and STILL can't believe they charged that to have Keith play It's Only RockNRoll for 54 seconds while the rest of the band played Satisfaction.

An inferior tour to Licks in every way.

Def Leppard drew 4000 people in my area the last time they played without a Journey or Bryan Adams to bail them out.

FACT

X was a decent album though and the tour was good. Playing the first side of High & Dry that time was cool.

IF thats true (its not), so what? Britney spears can sell more seats than Def Leppard and and can't sing or play. Well, Def cant either but at least Britney has tits....

The point is, no matter what you say, anyone in Journey can out sing our play his counterpart in Def Leppard, and Journey song writing is far superior.

I like old Leppard, but admit it. Although they have some good songs, they also have at least 6 of the 10 gayest rock songs as part of their catalogue.
