What Red13 you don't believe Jonathan Cain would say something so nice about his musical brother why are you questioning it?

Tell you what 13 you have 3 simple options
1)Why don't you ask JSS to ask Cain if he said that,

I KNOW he didn't say that, Twit. It came from an interview Matt posted, which he later admitted to being duped. You admitted as much, you know it's bogus yet you opt to keep rolling it out there.
I don't need to ask JSS that. I know it, he knows it, and I don't make a second full-time job of pming him as YOU probably do.

We are posting to one another. You have a problem with that Redjoe???

Gee, you seem really bothered by these sigs, where Cain said something nice about Perry.

There are many other sigs on here, and you don't see US harping and whining at others here to prove their quotes was said. Get over it already.

Nice to know that JSS allows his patsy to reply for him.

The bottom line is if Journey is JUST STARTING the process, the earlist they will have an album out is May of next year. If it's earlier, it will be rushed in one way or the other...as was Red 13 and Generations.

What is Journey this year? NOT MAKING WAVES.

So, you tell me, when is Journey going to take enough time off in the next six to eight months to write, record, produce, package, and burn a new CD? If you guys have not even STARTED that process, it's not going to be available until next summer, at the earliest. If it IS available sooner, quality is going to suffer in one area or another - IMO.

Allow me to handle this one, Jeff.

Princess, what the fuck are you babbling about? When are they going to take time off? What the fuck are they doing this year? They had a 3 week jaunt over in Europe-....done. They have ONE scheduled show this year. You don't think they would consider getting together and recording in say, 7 of the "other months left" do you?

No one said they had songs in the can. I believe Jeff said the other day and I will paraphrase, "we are going to get a shitload of tunes done, around 20-30 and pick from those, not just record 10 songs and call it good. They want, and more importantly need a kick ass CD. Doing something along the lines of REO's latest could be done by these guys in a weekend between playoff games. It will be a jewel, and it will be out a Helluva lot sooner than Summer 2008, I can guarantee you that.

Monker, you have lost your way. You simply are not informed and your guessing is about as good as Ray Charles qualifying Expert on the shooting range, or Herbie Herbert looking down and seeing his own dick. You need to go back to Iowa, and walk into one of those Tornado's path. Just end it already dude. And stop showing your face in my morning shits, I am getting sick of flushing you down my toilet.

Red - I posted that interview in a spirit of triumph! It demonstrated that even Jonathan Cain was a Loon back in the day when he said that Journey without Perry was like "a team without a quarterback"...and (you'll love this one, Red) "Neal and I chose to leave the LEGACY alive, and that's not taking anything away from the two of us. Journey is just not recognized as Journey without Steve Perry singing the music."

Here's the link again:

http://steveperry-perryville.com/Cain_Interview.html

Also - here's the thread where I originally posted it. I had said that Perry spoke to Cain in 1989 and I was challenged on this - which was the reason I hunted the article down to check whether I was right or not. The article made it clear that I wasn't.

So I always maintained that I believed the article was genuine.

Also - here's the thread where I originally posted it. I had said that Perry spoke to Cain in 1989 and I was challenged on this - which was the reason I hunted the article down to check whether I was right or not. The article made it clear that I wasn't.

So I always maintained that I believed the article was genuine.

Hey Matt,

Thank you for posting the article. :D

It brings a real good feeling to me to read the kind, compassionate, positive statements that Jon has to say about Perry in this article about him. Very good interview!

I agree that Matthew did not admit it was bogus in that thread.

Speaking of what he said or they said, do you suppose that none of it is accurate if his name is spelled wrong?

During the 1970s and 1980s Gibson did use my likeness, but we never signed anything. This new Signature model is the first time we struck a formal written deal for a guitar with my name on it.

Eric Clapton asked me to join his band, Derek and the Dominos. That was the day before Carlos asked me to join him, and I went with Carlos.

Focus on melody, tone and vibrato. I've never been a guitarist that practices scales. I couldn't tell you what scale I'm playing.

I am not a pop musician; I don't want to play bubble-gummy pop stuff.

I don't pay much attention to how a guitar's made, really. I just pick 'em up and if I like the way they sound, I want them!
Neil Schon

I have been in Journey since the beginning. I am the only guy that's actually been on every single record they've made, and I'm not done with that.

In a lot of aspects it's cooler that we don't have a lot of really overly famous people in the band.

It doesn't matter what guitar I start with, I always end up removing the guts from it and putting in the guts that I like!

It has progressively gotten worse, especially for bands like us, that have a large following. We have decided to take it into our own hands.
Neil Schon

It was a lot of fun to be that successful. We reached a very high level of musicality, and for me that's the best part of being in any band.
Neil Schon

Journey for so many years has been based around the song, which is fine, but at some time in my career I want to be a household name.

The heavy guitars are the ones that sound good. They are not that comfortable, but they do sound great.

There has been the biggest black cloud following me around. People believe it's all my fault that Steve is not here. He has always had an open door, and he doesn't choose to do this any more.

There is a lot of politics and bull going on right now with actual record stores-I guess they are CD stores.
Neil Schon

There is only so much money to go around. It is pretty hard to live right now, and we don't want to rip anybody off.
Neil Schon

We are doing what Prince did. Everyone that comes to a show billed as An Evening with Journey will get our new CD. We figured that is our best store because they are our biggest fans.
Neil Schon

We are taking close to $10 a CD the way we are doing it, and I think that is a fair amount to split up between five guys. Each of us makes like two bucks a record.
Neil Schon

What I have is a bunch of really hungry, amazingly talented guys that can kick anybody's rear end.
Neil Schon

When I go out with Journey, it is a complete cakewalk. I can afford my own bus.

With soloing, I think it's best to really start strong and end strong, and in the middle, let things fly and throw in some string bending.
Neil Schon

World Play is very '70s arena rock, very raw and in your face, and that's what we wanted. We recorded it in a very off-the-cuff manner and didn't really plan out how we were going to play. My solos are first takes.
Neil Schon

You learn at a certain point that you have to focus on the business side of music. After getting ripped off a couple of times, you figure out that you need to get a grip on it.

Prime examples of why it's hard to really take everything band memebers say publically too seriously.
Depending on the year and current 'record'/tour/line-up/sponsor, everything is subject to change :D

I don't pay much attention to how a guitar's made, really.
I just pick 'em up and if I like the way they sound, I want them!

Then Neal says:

I know what I want and expect out of a guitar. This Signature model
can really turn corners when when you get to the high notes.

Then he adds at some point:

It doesn't matter what guitar I start with, I always end up
removing the guts from it and putting in the guts that I like!
Welcome to Terminus... You hungry?
