I did this on another one of my boards and it took off like a shot with all sorts of hilarious debate. Let's see what transpires here  I know some are cartoon or comic, but let's just all assume we're talking about them in just terms of badass-ness

I voted for Hannibal. But I noticed after you said comic, etc... If that is the case it would be the revamped Lex Luthor from 86 on up. Not just a ruthless business man, but evil scientist, who would sell his on mother-Eric

Now this is interesting and also very tough...All these guys are badasses but I have different feelings about each.

I'd go with Freddy Krueger cuz I'm a horror fan and the character is definitely BADASS.

But then it's Vader - the sci-fi incarnation of the Dark Side, bad to the bone, evil, merciless, you name it.I love the character.

Hannibal is really cool...The human incarnation of the evil.

I'd vote for Corleone too, just for the "make him an offer he can't refuse" thing...LOL

I can't choose.

Maybe I should just vote for my homie, the thirsty guy with big teeth.

On the poll? Torrance, hands down.

What a performance by Jack, too.

Die Hard, Hans Gruuber. Best ever. I could watch that performance every day and STILL be stunned

Yeah, me too. That flick stands the test of time, too. My 14 year old saw it about 6 months ago for the first time and said it is now one of his all time favorite movies.

Alan Rickman always DIES!!! in every movie!! Robin Hood should be renamed the Sheriff of Nottingham movie cuz Costner was invisible next to Rickman.

I remember a Maxim online article going back at least 6 or 7 years that was very much along these lines...

IIRC, the winner was Vader....I think that would have changed if atack of the clones and revenge of the sith were in release....

But the runner up was D-fens, Michael Douglas' character in Falling Down. The guy wasn't a bad guy per-se, but he was a stellar prick in that movie....creepy, almost.

I also have to add in that certain actors almost *always* end up being completely creepy bad guys...they simply don't have it in their capacity to play a 'good' character. Those actors are (not exclusively, of course):

Robert Davi
John Voight
Any Baldwin brother
Robert Patrick
Susan Sarandon

Eek, Lector for sure, every time I see Hopkins in any other movies now, all I see is Lector!

I remember Gary Oldman in some movie too where he was a drug lord I think, the way he talked & acted was freaky, can't remember the name of the movie.

Gary Oldman was a real prick in the Harison Ford movie, Air Force One....definitely should get a vote for him there.....and I would have submitted his name to the 'totally creepy actors' list...but he seemingly played a nice, sweet guy as lt gordon in Batman Begins (simply the best fucking batman movie ever)....

Next to impossible to choose between drama, sci-fi and horror badasses... but in that order, Hannibal, Darth V and Freddy.

Maybe, but both Jason and Mike Myers have been tarnished by some bad movies. Hannibal hasn't.

Balderdash.

Well, at least not in the case of the Kane Hodder Fridays...I might grant you Myers. Jamie Lee Curtis trying to play Ripley in H20 and Rhymes doing Chop Sockey talk on Myers in the other one...Mmmm...Neither helped stall the series from going into "Re-Imagining" mode.

For some reason,Falconetti popped into my mind. :o I know he was on the radar only for a brief moment compared to the other monsters in the Poll, but man,he was such a badass!
He played the Falconetti character in the TV series "Rich Man,Poor Man",which was famous in Europe at the end of the 70s.
I cannot recall his real name, but I sure remember he was hated with a passion.I heard that he couldn't escape the "bad guy" label for a very long time.

Hannibal is winning hands down I see...Well worth it.I can't wait to see Hopkins's latest,"Fracture".A hannibal-ish role, minus the internal organs dinner.
