Postby Blindfaith » Tue May 15, 2007 12:00 pm

not in any order but here is 5

1. Led Zeppelin (cause every where you go you hear them play and crap)
2.Rolling Stones (there so old and dead its like a waste of money to see drugged guys who cant do anything)
3.AC/DC (They have only a few good hots thats it like who ever heard of the cd like fly on the wall and crap ypu ask like a teen today wearing a ac/dc shirt ever heard the album fly on the wall they be like no and they say there the biggest ac/dc fan)
4.Nirvana (I love kurt cobain i love there stuff but its like people worship the one album nevermind its an ok album what about in utero damn people need to see the other stuff to nirvana then just nevermind)
5.Black Sabbath (with ozzy) (they had one good album paranoid what about the dio stuff like heaven and hell that was an amazing album dio is so much better then ozzy and no one sees it sabbath and ozzy are over rated)
thats my 5 choices lets see what your opinions are

Interesting opinion.

Old school rockers like myself would beg to differ to your choices.

AC/DC, I like but apart from they make consistently poor albums.

Led Zep are legendary but not always my cup of tea.

Sabbath are arguably the greatest ever Metal band. Their first 6 albums are classic`s, then they went downhill until Dio joined and made one of the greatest ever, let alone sabbath albums.

My overrated bands are the likes of Motley Crue and Poison.

Would be good to hear differing opinions :)

Virginia Wolf, Unruly Child, King Kobra, Signal, Bite The Bullet, Heartland, Valentine... all these artists would have been the GREATEST in a perfect world.

JAMES TAYLOR
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
AEROSMITH
SHERYL CROW
THE EAGLES
ELVIS
STEVE MILLER
THE DOORS (right on, AngieKay)
PRINCE

These are some artists and bands that I think are overrated. If I happen to be listening to the radio, which I don't do often, and these come on... I have a Texas trigger finger that flips the station over to a CD in like .0065 seconds.

I hate Poison with the white hot intensity of 1,000 suns.

Prince is the best musician on earth? Come on... I like him, but that's ridiculous.

Springsteen is good, but overrated IMO. I didn't say he sucked. Born to Run is a classic.

i cant say springsteen in over rated i listen to him everyday i love his work i am growing up in nj and every one from nj knows and loves springsteen his works and stuff but like after 85 he sucked he went werid got into politics and like never works with the E street band the only like good album he had after 85 was the rising i persoannly think if bruce got with the E street band came out with a album and went back to his roots it would be a instant hit album and a sell out tour and i dont think prince is all that amazing

Ah, but are they overrated? I think too many people dislike them to be overrated. But then you may think even 1 person liking them makes them too highly rated.

Me? Easy.

Goddam Foo Fighters. Who thinks those guys are GOOD? And they have a KILLER reputation. Grohl's very existence puts my teeth on edge.

I think it's all in 'the EAR ' of the beholder :) , after all variety is the spice of life, and it would be so broing if we all liked the same bands exactly. I don't think I really ahve any underrated or over rated bands that I can speak of, I just love music full stop. :D

U2, Stones, Doors, Janis Joplin, Beatles, Elvis, Springsteen, Green Day, Blink 182. Given a few more minutes I could probably double that list.

There are two kinds of music - rock, and roll.

Favorites: Def Leppard (Pyromania = Best album ever), Rush, Journey (minus the turmoil), Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Night Ranger, Live, Collective Soul

hmmm i don't think Ac/DC are over rated...but then I am a big AC/DC fan. I suppose it's that thing about variety again, everyone has a different view, and that is all good, otherwise we'd just be very very boring :-D

If I were choosing myself, I would say and Death Metal band....but like I say just my opinion :)

Yeah, I wouldn't say AC/DC are overrated. A lot of their more recent releases have hardly been innovative, but 'Highway To Hell' and 'Back In Black' are IMO among the top 50 rock albums ever. And an AC/DC live show is one of the most awe-inspiring experiences in the music business. I've been to many, and I've never, EVER seen anybody in the audience sat down at any of them. AC/DC are one of those bands that always delivers on stage, even if you don't like their albums.

For me, overrated bands include The Rolling Stones, Motley Crue, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, U2.

I also think the Beatles were overrated. They had one great songwriter (Lennon) and several average musicians who just happened to be in the right place at the right time to take advantage of a world change in musical tastes - much like the Sex Pistols.

Yep I think a lot of people labor under the false notion that Lennon was not as creative as McCartney, when actual fact he was, if not more so.

I think one of the most over rated bands i can remember that were hyped up and came to nothing in the end were sig sig sputnik... :? They were terrible...and using terrible as the word to describe them I am being ULTRA polite!! :)

even though they were not a band as such and not even a rock band, the Spice Girls..oh my goodness they were so over rated, over hyped, over exposed... to me it was the equivalent of selling horse manure in harrods, in a fancy bag with a big girly bow on it! Exactly a bag of S**T ...Just my opinion of course
