I had a possible position of hire but was picked over. Panetta was Chief of Staff. The WH has a million arms exiting itself. To be a presidential speechwriter is an amazingly tough job and only the best of the best get that one. I wasn't in that percentile.

I did write speeches and maybe will be writing some next year. Now, what's my job compared to yours? Flipping pancakes falls short of anything I do/did in my lifetime. I flip em, but for my pregnant fiancee on weekends.
