Dean, I strongly DIASAGREE with your first point of contention and stongle AGREE with your second one.

Good.
The 2 poster boys for "Rational" have weighed in against me as too dreamy.

Deano- Check her out playing with Josh Groban on You Tube. I think the song is Canto Alta Vita.

Been a huge fan of theirs for a lot of years now.

They've kind of dropped off the radar in the States though...I doubt I'll ever get to see them live. :(

The Lansdowne Road DVD is f'ing amazing.

I'm dumbstruck that you like this lot Dean, I saw them years ago at a local University and they were drippy as fuck. Just really dreary, no Elvis in them whatsoever. Very, very shaggable especially Andrea, and this is, I feel where heads get turned. Mutt Lange made them even more cutesy sugar and sweet. Mogadon music.

It's total sugary pop, but I've always been a sucker for well-written, intelligent pop music with great vocal harmonies. They actually play instruments and write all their own music, which elevates them above 90% of the pop music out there, and they're very good at both of those things.

Not all sugary. They have tons of tunes that are played in concert that are NOT pop...So Young, Dreams(FleetMac cover), Queen of Hollywood, Toss the Feathers (inst), Runaway, No Frontiers, Forgiven not Forgotten, and I would Love to Love You, etc....

The pop hits are Breathless, Angel, Summer Sunshine(fuck I love looking at her in that video..best face i've ever seen), Radio(a brilliant song with brilliant guitars and vocals), and All the Love in the World.

I know Corrs history.

Andrea is one of the sexiest women on the planet. I could watch the Breathless video on loop all day.

Not to mention I loved the song the first time I heard it. It is still in my top 25 favorite songs of all time.

I've got an MP3 of them doing
"Little Wing" LIVE with Ron Wood on guitar...
It's fucking great! One of the best versions of
this song I've ever heard.

I gotta admit, "Breathless" is one of my
most embarrassing guilty pleasures,
right up there with Clarkson's Since You Been Gone

When it comes to songs I like, I don't care who wrote them or who sings them. If they catch me, they catch me. I make no apologies about what I like.

Music is like that. Certain things appeal to some more than others. I happen to like "Forever" by Kiss, written by Michael Bolton. I am not ashamed of that, either.

I like what I like, and I like liking it. It doesn't have to be musical genius to me, just appeal to my senses.

Glad you think breathless is crap too and yes 'ghastly Irish cutesyness' sums it up. Good work fella.

I'm just too blinkered I'm afraid - it can be a great song but if the execution is shit then it gets no further. A Turner painted by Hockney would still be shit. That may sound simplistic but its nevertheless true.
Dollys version of 'I will always Love you' is the original and best. Whitneys might be the mega seller but its puke worthy and overblown, especially the OTT whining vocal gymnastic crap at the end?
