Winds of Freedom - new footage/vid

Thanks to "Ratgirl" Ang for sending this over to me. It was over a 500MB AVI that I compressed down to a 54 MB MPEG. Some nice closeups about 2 minutes in. I think this one is the best one floating so far. Enjoy!

Great stuff, thanks Ed for compressing and uploading that.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Ang, thanks for coming through once again. Those of us that couldn't make it muchly appreciate it (especially the closeups  )! I like the song, doesn't bowl me over, but I think it's growing on me. Really like Jeff's vocals on it though, he's singing with a lot more soul/passion.

Thanks Ed for converting it and thanks Ang for getting it. Image

Cheers AR - it's actually easier to judge the quality of this song from this clip - and I reckon they should develop it a bit more and change the lyrics and put it on the next album. It's definitely growing on me....

Thanks Rat and Ed. When I first heard this song I loved it, still do. Two reasons..the melody and Jeff singing it with passion. He's really "owning" the music now. 8)

Sorry, I'm not too 'fawned' of the song. :P

It just doesn't grab me. It's lacking something but I can't put my finger on it. Perhaps it would have sounded more complete with the full orchestra behind it.

Just MHO!!

I like the song & I loved being there to hear it live. I think it would make a great bonus track on the new cd 8)

For me, the song took a second listen to hear the hook and to appreciate it.
No, its not "Higher Place" or any sort of fist-pounding, modern arena-anthem heralding a new era of Journey.
Then again, its not supposed to be.
And I'm sure there will be time for those when (and if) they actually commit to an album.

I think Jeff mentioned that the opening piano sounds a bit like WYLAW, but to me, it sounds awfully alot like "Walking Away from the Edge" but played in a higher key.
Neal's solo, while certainly not one of his best, is serviceable.
For what it is, a one-off, I think it's damn good.
Not "lead single" good, mind you, but for somewhere in the middle of a record, this would hit the mark.

What's the mystery? Why couldn't they have a studio version that we could listen to? Are the lyrics available anywhere yet? Did I miss them somewhere?
