I will drink a lite beer if I have to, but prefer something with some body to it, like Killian's or Sam Adams. I love microbrews, too.

There are several good restaurants in the Indianapolis area as far as microbrews go. I especially prefer the places that serve the fairly large-sized sample of ALL their microbrews.

Yeah, samplers are great. I am not into the really dark stuff, tho.

I like light beer because it tastes lighter. I don't like the fully leaded kind as well. It also has fewer calories.

I have never even TASTED beer  . I don't do diet ANYTHING. Diet soda is the worst. I would probably rather drink beer than diet soda.

I used to hate diet soda, too. But I learned to like it when my sister told me that one can of regular Coke has the equivalent of 10 teaspoons of sugar in it.

I'm not much into the dark stuff, either. Can't stand Guinness, for instance. It's like drinking a can of oil. I prefer the middle of the road as far as color goes or slightly darker than that.

WTF is "soda?" It's "pop" dammit. Technically, it's "soda pop" but we're much more defined by our last names than our first. "Soda" is fuckin' stupid and gay. Sounds like a word John Lennon would use. Just sounds gay even saying it. So-duh......Pop has more balls, something certain people on this board need to grow. Hey Wyngz, whatcha doin' today? Trying to unravel the hidden meaning(s) behind the Target logo? Or writing another boring, over-analyzed dissertation on Journey's artwork and lyrics? Hurry along now, gotta be about time to drive your 1986 minivan full of Colombian illegals to their landscaping jobs.

Here in the south everything is a "coke".

"Get me a coke."

"Sure, what kind?"

"Mountain Dew."

I got tired of that and started calling it "soda". Everyone thinks I am a yankee :?

I buy lite and try to drink lite whenever possible when out.

I'm 32 now and actually find it really DOES make a slight difference. Less filling and all that shit, it's actually true. Coors Light, Miller Lite.

In this area of VA everything is called a "drink". I was raised in the midwest calling carbonated soft drinks "pop" like SJ said. A "drink" was either a "drink of water" or a "mixed drink". The first time I was asked by my future M-I-L if I wanted a drink I said yes thinking I was being offered a glass of water because she was too straight-laced Southern Baptist to have acholol in her house. Then I was asked what kind and was confused so I asked what the choices were. It was Pepsi.

That was just one of many language and culture shock barriers I had to overcome.

It is always called "soda" on the commercials. I never hear it called "pop".

I've got relatives in Ohio and they call it "pop."

Seems childlike to me, but it's definately the midwest parlance.

A page with carlorie and alcohol content comparisons:

I'll drink any kind of beer put in front of me except for dark beer. I do drink Coors Light mostly at home, but when out I go along with what the majority wants to drink. A heavier import or something is totally cool with me.

love sam adams or amstel, if you can find it, diet beer is like diet coke... terrible.
DR Pepper or MR Pibb are the best pops...and midwest we grew up saying pop.
The old days of europe all they knew is coke. :-) I miss the old glass bottles of pop from those
old pop machines.
