Me too! While cleaning out a closet in my Mom's house, my sister uncovered a typewriter. My 8 year old niece looked at it and said "What is that?!" She had never seen one and had no idea what it was. Too funny!!

I couldn't type on a manual now if you paid me. I have an electric typewriter at work and once in a blue moon I have to use it. I have a hard time even with that. LOL!

We had an old typewriter here at work too they were using for our old chart labeling system (now all done on the computer, lol). Lots of cussing involved whenever that thing would get used, lol.

Ah, big flashbacks to high school typing classes... I still use white out on stuff at school, but they've changed the formula - it doesn't smell the same.

I always sniffed my tests and quizzes in school. I remember our junior high school newspaper was printed on a mimeograph machine and then stapled together. When I was a senior in high school, I was office aide and actually got to turn the crank to print out stuff for the secretary. I thought I was cool.

Oh yeah! I do remember that. Not sure why some kids ate it, though. It was disgusting.

How about the paint that came in the big squeeze bottles?

Hmmm. I don't think we had those. I just remember the big black permanent markers that could just about knock you out if you smelled them.

Ok, leaving work for my sister-in-law's birthday, she's just slightly older than me, I'll see if she remembers the blue/purple sniffy papers too :P lol

I remember the glue in the jar with the stick, but not any odor/color appropriate markers.

I'm midwestern too Belar and the sheets I remember were blue. The originals that the teachers wrote out looked purple though.

I used to be a helper in the office in elementary and turned the crank on the machine a few times myself.

They don't do that anymore?
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.
