Love it. After a game against the Canucks last season Dean and I went to the bar/restaurant across the street from the arena to hang with a bunch of 'nucks  and Teemu showed up. It was like meeting a rockstar. He signed a poster for me that I have hanging in my classroom. Very sweet and gracious man to the fans. I was more excited meeting Teemu than I was Journey!

Yes, Congrats indeed, The Ducks played fantastic and that
puck pusher goalie was incredible.
I know the rest of the Ducks were good as well but I be a goalie girlie.

Would someone just please give me my noose now?

Congrats, DUCKS!!!! Great season....

Plus it did my heart good to see Rat Face Alfredsson and Pumpkin Head Neil's heads hanging...creeps.

Did feel sorry for Mike Fisher though... hell of a good guy and a great player
at both ends of the ice... the NHL (& the Sens) needs more like him...

* IT'S TEEMU TIME *

Image

This is *HUGE* news in Finland right now.

15 years of hard work & finally Teemu Selänne gets his dream fulfilled.

Many over here are declaring the Finnish Flash the best hockey player Finland has ever produced.

He is now the sixth Finn to hold the Cup high:

Jari Kurri - 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1990 (Edmonton Oilers)
Esa Tikkanen - 1985, 1987, 1988, 1990 (Edmonton Oilers), 1994 (New York Rangers)
Reijo Ruotsalainen - 1987, 1990 (Edmonton Oilers)
Jere Lehtinen - 1999 (Dallas Stars)
Ville Nieminen - 2001 (Colorado Avalanche)
Teemu Selänne - 2007 (Anaheim Ducks)

Selänne had said earlier, that he would've retired after season 2003-2004, if he had won the Stanley Cup for Colorado.

He has also repeatedly hinted of retiring during this season, if Anaheim wins. And now they did.

"As I've said, I've always dreamed about retiring at the top. But this isn't the moment to talk about what happens next. I need a couple of weeks to think it over. I knew that during the season there will be the up and down moments - and the decision has to be made when the mind is stable. If it then feels like I don't have the same passion and love to hockey - then it's better to end it. This job is too tough to do without passion and love. But I don't want to think about that tonight, it's all too incredible right now."

Teemu Selänne says, as he smiles through his tears.

Man, was it worth getting up at 2.50 AM and watching the whole thing to 6 AM... and seeing Teemu interviewed twice and giving the answers in Finnish the second time...

...he made us proud.
