Nice to see folks from other countries having cup craze.
Enjoy Finn! :D

:D - Thanks, here in Finland we mainly support our local teams - and of course our national team.

But we always follow how our boys are doing in the NHL - because that's where our best play. 8)

I'm not really a Ducks fan - I support any team that goes into the Stanley Cup finals, having at least one Finnish player on board.

...and if the opponent has a Swedish captain - it's so freakin' obvious:

Finland vs. Sweden - the best we can imagine.

We Finns *love* to kick some Swedish butt... and it's the same with the Swedes: it's NOT hate between us, but genuine fierce sports rivalry.

Because we love hockey.

I enjoy seeing the excitement and joy in others over hockey.
Greatest game on earth to me aside from love.

I'd have to say my fave Fin player was Jari Kurri.
That Brotha did magic back in the day with The Great One.

We can live with losing to Canada (pronounced with awe) in hockey and curling... and on some disastrous occasions to others as well...

...just as long it's NOT Sweden. :P

there are no words to describe last nights game. watching the ducks win the stanley cup at home was mind blowing. i actually got dizzy from all the excitement. it was SO loud in there i was wishing i brought ear plugs because my ears really started to hurt. i couldn't hear or speak for the rest of the evening. hehehee!! it was awesome... the guys celebrated on the ice with family & friends... even pulling people out of the stands. i think hockey is the only sport where the team does this. really cool. the most emotional part was when jiggy skated with his newborn son. baby jiggy was born with a deformed eye & probably will be blind for life in that one eye. sweet little guy... he is so cute... so tiny! it was fun watching all the little ones skating around... they were picking up & putting on all the equipment that was thrown on the ice. makes my damn clock tick even louder though! };C))

i'm so happy & proud of them ducks! YAY!! }=C))

ducks in 2008! };C))

there were two guys from finland sitting next to us at the game. they were so excited to see selanne. i was hoping for them he would get a goal.
when people started chanting emery they weren't sure what people were saying so the hubby explained to them & got them chanting too! what a great game... lots of high fives! }=C))

Oh Tree, I'm so glad you were there!! And thanks for posting those pics, the baby in the Cup is priceless. I watched on TV and balled at the end, so happy for the Ducks. Watching the clock wind down and realizing they had done it was such a great feeling. I'm so glad Scottie was recognized as well, I just love him! I hate to see Teemu retire tho. Maybe he'll play anther year. Now what do we do til next season?
Until we meet again, may God
