Lets think now what Neal ( bands leader ) has put Journeys fans through in the past 12 months or so.

#1 - The shit rotten CD Generation's- ' I think handing the mic and letting our bus driver, and pastery chef sing lead on a few songs was a GREAT idea' NS- June 19 Classic Rock Revisited interview

#2 - Voice Enhancing or TapeGate- after coming up with the TOTALLY brilliant idea of doing three hour shows that highlight the bands career Steve A. starts having medical problems. No need to worry Neal, Ross and Jonathan have an idea. 'Lets just tape portions of our show and play that over our sound system. Neal writes ' No one will ever find out. shit our fans are too old, deaf and dumb to ever figure this one out.' Shit, lets sub Perry's voice in some too it will make us sound that much better'. 'If we do get caught we can blame the new meat. We will sacrifice Steve first and Dean second' Deal??? Sounds good to me. JC and RV agree.

#3- In a TOTALLY brilliant move the band hires Jeff Scott Soto to save the tour and the band. Steve A. is thrown to the curb or wolves as planned nd Jeff Scott Soto steps in. When Jeff complains about a sore throat and the lack of new material he is given the size 11 boot by the Schon dumbass club. Whitney Houston is heard practicing in the background.


I begged Neal to wait for a little while, or change the name, but please dont fracture the good name of Journey- SP

Let me get this straight...JSS is booted out of the band and they didn't even call and speak directly to him? They should have met with him face to face, man to man, and told him this. Instead, it looks like they may have had plans to replace him while he was still performing with the band, helping them finish out their tour plans from last year and earlier this year.

#1 - If they wanted to replace JSS, they should've waited on ANY plans until the tours were over.

#2 - They should have met with JSS or, at the very least, called the guy to break the news to him.

You don't fire someone via proxy.

He's signed off after being advised it may be in his best interests not to post any more about it.

I don't mean the Band or Management advised him, but people who care about him suggested it may be the best course of action.
He obviously agreed. I'm sorry I can't remember which thread that happened in exactly - because it's a little hard to keep up with all the posts.
It is said he IS the singer.
He has said he ISNT.
It is said that JSS quit.
He has said he didn't.

Until something official comes from all camps all kinds of things are being inferred.
But everyone is wishing Jeremey well, because he is highly thought of.
It's the situation which stinks.
Most of the anger is aimed at Neal/Jonathan as far as I can see.
Nothing but support for Jeremey and JSS - well thats the way I see it.

You know there is nothing wrong with Jeremy singing in a tribute band or the fact that he is taking this opportunity, the thing is...Journey really is stepping over the edge by potentially hiring someone from a tribute band. From a business perspective it...I mean every interview from now till 3 years from now is going to be about hiring a tribute singer. If I were in the band, I wouldnt want that to be the focus of the press.

Again, Jeremy is a great singer and all, but there is stigma attached for Journey...I mean they are still talking about JD from INXS Rock Star in every interview "hiring your singer from a game show" type of thing.

Doesnt make much business sense to me.

Jeremey isn't laughing, though.
He has bowed out of the discussions, however, so we cannot ask him further about what is happening.
If he hasnt been told officially that they are giving him the job, he didn't lie. But we don't know the full story do we?
Unfortunately, we may never know it.
Its such a messy way of going about things, isn't it?
Surely it could have been organised better and in a dignified way which is respectful to JSS and Jeremey [or whoever it is going to be.]
