An open letter to Neal and Friga

Postby AR » Thu Jun 14, 2007 10:17 pm

I hope you guys now realize what you've done. You had a true ambassador of goodwill for your band who bailed your asses out on the Def Leppard tour. You have a fan base who became invested in him and were looking forward to new music from the 5 of you.

And you stabbed him in the back and flushed it all right down the fucking toilet. Way to handle the situation guys. Jeff deserved better.

Right now I only post on this forum because of the people I've met here - people I now consider friends. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. It has nothing to do with your band anymore. The name "Journey" just leaves a bad taste.

Good luck getting anyone to buy into anything you do ever again. Enjoy the Oklahoma State Fair, Ramada Inn lounge and wherever else the Journey continues to. Unlike some, no ill will from this fan. I don't care enough anymore to get that angry.

You've put the fans through too much to recover from. Hope it was worth it.

Man, I think they underestimated the damage this would do.

I'm with you, AR. I'm pissed at the band, but more concerned with JSS. I hope he bounces back quickly.

I SOOOOO hope they are reading all this stuff. And I SOOOO hope "Fro" realizes that he lost not only a bandmate, but from what I could tell, a friend.

Niggy, we know Jeff will bounce back quickly. He's too resilient not too. I see the word 'class' used here a lot. Too much, sometimes. But, in this case, 'class' is the best word to describe Jeff. He is the ultimate rock star. Awesome talent, great looks, terrific showmanship, and not 'untouchable' to the fans that follow him. Those characteristics will help him to get through this, coming out stronger in the end.

Right you are, Donna. JSS, if you're reading this, keep us posted of whatever you're doing. We will be there in droves (whatever that means) to see you perform and buy your music.

Guys, give it up, the last Sopranos episode brought more fans and interest for Journey than the handful of people moaning and wining here. Get a life and find another band..

You couldn't be more wrong!!! The last Sopranos episode, while a great shot in the arm for the 'old' Journey, will not put people in the seats of their shows. It is nothing more than a passing fancy, and it will soon be forgotten.

rdekker could have made the Sopranos point without "Get a life and find another band"

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

In the last couple of days since this whole mess started I had a strange feeling...I just couldn't put my finger on it,but this morning my eyes opened up...

My feeling is that this whole thing with Jeff and the "Sopranos" was carefully orchestrated.
Just think about it...

What are the chances for two major things like these to happen at the same time??

Cain & Schon both knew before hand that DSB will close the final episode and they knew it will hit the news big time.
My take is that they hoped to diminish the impact of Jeff's firing or even try to make people (the casual fans) focus on the Soprano news.

Just look at all the articles and the interviews with Schon and Cain...More talk about the "Sopranos" than about Jeff's departure.
Even the Press Release was literally buried under the "Soprano" news!

I hope I am wrong,as this is making them look even more vile than they are.
What a SHAME.

I feel exactly the same way both you guys do. The only way I care at all about Journey now is in how they are effecting the lives of two of our friends, Jeff and Jeremey. I want only the best of all possible things for both of them.

Of course I'll always love the Journey that brought my favorite music into my life and the singer who sang that music. I just don't give two hoots in hell about the sideshow the band with that name has become.

Despite Augeri's lipping, doesn't this whole turn of events give you more sympathy for him? I was upset at the entire band for that whole episode but Augeri in particular. Now I'm not so sure I blame him any more than I do the rest of the guys in the band.

I gotta agree with you, Dave...

This last blow has really shown
how lazy and greedy these fucktards really are.

They helped blow out Mr Augeri's voice by sticking
to the GH sets and not letting him sing his tracks.
They were all involved with the tapes so that they could
keep sticking to the GH sets and not letting him sing his tracks.

Then they bring in Jeff, who seriously, single-handedly saved their asses
AND gave them a chance at being a relevant name again...

But they let it all go because of pure laziness and greed.
Why try and rev up a new Journey Juggernaut when we
can just sit back and collect off of the old catalogue
while touring with a singer that is basically a Perry Impersonator.
No originality, no guts, no glory,
NO FUCKING BALLS!

Good article. Now after I have read it...what can I say?Us women have a sixth sense!

I think we're looking at a disgusting plot,a "perfect timing" -- Journey style.Or should I say "perfect stabbing"?

You know when this news first broke, the first person (after Jeff of course) I thought of was Augeri. I've been leery about saying anything because I know how people here feel about that whole situation.

Guess what? Augeri isn't.

And would Jeff really want to???
It isn't like he recorded any albums for them.

The correct title should be "Jeff Scott Soto, former savior of Journey."
Right Neal? Right Jon? Oh, you can finish counting your 2006 earnings and get back to me if you need to. I'll wait.
