Yup, if Deano was a stock, I'd be buying right now.

Journey are greedy/old//desperate for money and will sell their souls to increase their own bank balance and I heard romours that they were offered a shit load of money to do it. Perfect for pampering their egos too, especially Neal and Jon who were pissed off at Soto taking all the limelight. They are all a bunch of deceitful bastards who deserve to be exposed for the way they have treated Soto. Jeff is one of the nicest guys in the business and they took advantage of that. I hope Jeff seeks legal advice and exposes them all all in court, as that way someone can bring up the subject of backing tapes, which is the very reason why Jeff was brought in, in the first place... to save their asses. Ungrateful bastards.

For someone to get used, the other person would have to agree on something, and I'm sure JSS was seeing $$$$ as soon as they called him in for the gig for the DL Tour. I agree they probably did JSS wrong, and he IS a nice guy and a great talent and all of that, but to say they fired him because he "stole all the limelight off of them" is completly ridiculous. After all of this fire is done and over with, maybe Journey did the right thing for the band and keep the legacy going to their natural sound whether than going into a different direction. A lot of you said there is NOTHING else for Journey to prove, and they should just retire.
If that is the case, then why would they waste time with JSS and a "new direction" of the band to begin with? Staying with what their doing for years upon years I guess is what works with this band. To them, they see it as, "why risk the chance with JSS and be stuck in a rut if all doesn't pan out."
If the new material wouldn't of went over, then it would have been back to square one anyway. They took the safe way out, and are going with the natural sound for them since the 70-80's.
I guess it's best for them to fire JSS now, rather than 2 years down the road.
Iunno, that's the way I see it.

It's speculation, but it's fact that JSS really had no idea what was going on until just before we knew. We don't know why, but we do know how poorly it was handled, and for that, Friga and Neal kind of deserve what they're getting (from fans here, at least).
I'm a musician, I completely understand band members not working out, it's life in a band, but there's a mature, professional way to handle it...and there's the Journey way.

I was just told that JSS read about it on Blabbermouth and Melodicrock. Neal wouldn't return his phone calls and he was left out in the cold. I have a connection to one of JSS's bandmembers.

Gee, that's basicaly what I said after Augeri left.
It did not matter who replaced Augeri, something like this was going to happen. I said it from the start. What is going on now is happening a lot sooner then I thought it would - but I knew it would happen eventually.
The post-Perry Journey ended when Augeri left. There was never going to be a "come back" with Jeff, or anyone else...and there never will be. Journey is on a down hill run, and have been since the anniversary tour.
All of this whining by a few dozen fans is irrelevant. They don't care about you, and they haven't for about five years. You are all just getting caught up with reality. All they want is their concert revenue.

Shit, your kid hangs out with a bunch of kids who beat up on kids, even if your kid touches no one, what does that say about him for still hanging with this sort of group?

Reality? The reality is we care about each other, so all this "whining" is not irrelevant. When people are in pain, it helps them to talk about it with others who feel the same way.

Down hill run? Maybe now they are, but it seems they got glowing reviews with Jeff and the energy and excitement was infectious. Ticket sales were great and they were all set to blast into the future with something new and different and then they decided to trip and fall down the hill and ruin it.
As far as not caring about their fans and just the concert revenue I agree now.

My point is that it is irrelevant to JOURNEY. They are not going to look at these forums and think, "Uh, oh, look what they're saying...we need to hire Perry/Augeri/JSS back!" They made their decision, and I doubt VERY much Journey is going to change thier minds because of a few dozen fans on the internet.
I would not say fans caring about each other is irrelevant.
BTW, could you answer a question on the mailing list about why the Force and SPIN closed down? Someone is saying they closed as part of the deal to get the TBF reunion going...That doesn't make sense to me because I thought the Force ended prior to TBF, and SPIN lasted well into the recording of TBF?
ohsherrie wrote:There was never a post-Perry Journey Monker.
The fact is that Journey needs a strong frontman because the Journey that all the hits are known for was built on the frontman. People can applaud Neal's guitar, Jon's keys, Ross's bass and Smitty's or Deen's drums to kingdom come, but they aren't what Journey was famous for. It was the frontman.
Jeff isn't weak.
In fact he's so strong that he made them afraid they might be overshadowed again.
He had to go.
The guy singing can't be too weak to take the abuse, but he can't be so strong that he gets all the applause. Neal and Jon must be scratching their heads(or something) trying to come up with a way to keep milking the legacy without depending on the strength of a REAL frontman. ("Gee Butthead what do we do now?" "I don't know Beavis, I guess we just fuck ourselves again.")
If they think Jeremey is some weak patsy I'm afraid they're about to be fooled again.

You don't think they know or read these forums - their families do? What about when some of us balked at the idea of re-recording the Classics? Funny, how they then decided not to.
Of course, I don't think they are greatly influenced by our opinion & would not go back & re-hire Jeff...

It says that Deen has steady work and very good pay check. I wonder how many people on this forum have to put up with BS at work and stay there for the very same reason. And, as far as I can tell...he loves performing the music.
