RUSH - Partial Snakes & Arrows Tour Setlist Revealed

Saturday, June 09, 2007

RUSH fansite RushIsABand.com has posted a partial setlist from a source who has heard the band rehearsing in Toronto. The following songs were heard in their entirety: 'Circumstances', 'Entre Nous', 'Witch Hunt', 'A Passage To Bangkok', 'Freewill', 'Natural Science', 'Digital Man', 'Subdivisions', 'Between The Wheels', 'YYZ', 'Tom Sawyer', 'Spirit Of Radio', 'Mission'. Also heard/played were about eight songs from Snakes & Arrows.

As previously reported, the MVI (Music Video Interactive) disc of Snakes & Arrows will be in stores June 26th. This will contain exclusive behind the scenes footage of the making of the new album. Snakes & Arrows will be available on vinyl as of June 19th. Only 5,000 copies of this 2LP set will be available, and all will be pressed on 180-gram HQ audiophile vinyl at RTI for the best possible sound.

I am really looking forward to this. Some obscure songs: "Witch Hunt" will be awesome.

Great track...my favorite off of MOVING PICTURES. Got to see them do that locally on the
GRACE tour....

From 2112.net

Based on opening night only...the setlist for this tour is quite a bit more varied than recent tours; 9 of the 13 tracks from the new album are played live (performing this many songs in support of a new album has not been done since the Power Windows tour!), and for the first time ever, "Entre Nous" is played live. In addition, many songs are back after a long rest ("Circumstances", not heard since the Hemispheres tour; "Digital Man" since the Grace Under Pressure warm-up tour, "Witch Hunt" since the Power Windows tour, and "Mission" since the Presto tour). This is only the second tour to not include either "2112" or "La Villa Strangiato" in the setlist (the other time was the Counterparts tour), and it is also worthy to note that "Roll The Bones" is dropped for the first time ever.

Limelight
Digital Man
Entre Nous
Mission
Freewill
The Main Monkey Business
The Larger Bowl
Secret Touch
Circumstances
Between The Wheels
Dreamline
(-Intermission-/video intro)
Far Cry
Workin’ Them Angels
Armor And Sword
Spindrift
The Way The Wind Blows
Subdivisions
Natural Science
Witch Hunt
Malignant Narcissism
Drum Solo
Hope
Summertime Blues
The Spirit of Radio
Tom Sawyer (with South Park intro)
Encore:
One Little Victory
A Passage to Bangkok
YYZ

Items of note:
# The dryers have reportedly been replaced by rotisserie chicken roasters
# The opening video begins with a dream sequence with the Alex and Neil. Alex wakes up and taps someone sleeping beside him. Neil rolls over, and they both look at each other and yell 'AHHHHHHHHHHH"...it then cuts to Geddy who is sitting in a chair approached by a guy in costume(?) with an accent telling Geddy he doesn't care how he is feeling, that the show must go on etc, etc...and threatens him with humorous threats IF he doesn't get up and go do the show to which they all ran out.
# The video intro for the second set is all Alex in rare, comical form, playing several characters on the Snakes and Arrows Leela board. The board shifts arounds the screen and highlights certain lines to which Alex pops up and executes typical ALex rants.
# The drum solo is completely new
# There is a South Park video intro to Tom Sawyer; during the video, Cartman sings the wrong lyrics and then says "I'm Geddy LEE and I can sing it however I want" then the South Park characters counted it in again and the real Rush begin the song.

Interesting set but it's nice they changed it up. I love Natural Science so at least I get my one 10 minute epic.
