Am I missing the obvious? I just read where Deano said Augeri's voice is back to 100%, so why not re-hire the guy. And before you start with tapegate, lets remember that beyond this circle the people that know about tapegate are few and far between. Yea you'd have to go with a lighter schedule to keep his voice strong, but it's doable.

Remember now, Augeri was singing close to 3 hour shows A NIGHT. If they just stick with the Dirt Dozen and put on an hour and a half show a night, and if his voice is back to 100% then I think he can handle. But it won't happen.

I saw them at a rib fest...One of the best shows I've seen yet. Downtown Indianapolis at night, with the high rises all around, people out on their balconies listening to the band. I can still still hear the echoes of "I sang this song a hundred, maybe a thousand years ago. No one ever listens...I just play and then I go...Off into the sunset like the western heroes do". Classic moment. Great performance by a great band. It may not be the big time but they still play and do it with passion.

If this is true, Augieri gains alot of respect in my book. I'm sure he was emotionally exhausted through the entire ordeal that he went through. If this was handled better, Augieri would have been held on the sidelines, instead of officially being let go. Of course, none of us really know how all of this went down. We can speculate, but until we are in the same room with the band, or a part of the conversations, we won't really know.

And Journey, with 95 million records sold worldwide, will be forced to tour with Kansas and BOC, with combined worldwide sales of 15 million units? The 'Generations' tour may have featured 3 hour sets, but the first hour was dedicated to Pre-Perry songs.
Unless, of course, you're including Augeri's choral humming (along with the rest of the band) on the 'Peoples and Places' intro.
On some nights the first hour included AWYWIT or FTW, but they were tape, so that's a moot point
As for the remaining two hours, Augeri's worload was interspliced by 2 lead songs by Deen and turns at the mic by Neal, Jon, and Ross.
In short, your theory is bullshit.

That's it in a nutshell, but I think there's never been a better time for Schon, Cain and Perry to reflect on this Journey vehicle. Regardless of it will or will not happen...there's only one solution...they must reform and throw all their egos out of the window......the door is wide open for the grand entrance of Perry....a defining moment in the final chapter of Journey. Okay! I know there's those that say he doesn't want the gig but how do we really know this....the recent Soprano thing might just have sparked a renewed enthusiasm that might just get the three of them talkin' business again, on Perry's terms. Schon and Cain are reportedly looking for a Perry clone so why the fuck don't they try a bit harder and get the real deal to sort this fuckin' mess out

I'm just going by the setlists back in 2002 where most of my fam saw them. They saw Journey with Augeri a good 5 times, and all were 3 hour setlists, with Augeri singing the whole night, with an exception of a few songs. Atleast my theory isn't bullshit for those 5 nights I guess.
