'Sopranos' spot has Journey still believin'
The television moment has already secured its place in pop culture lore.

The New Jersey mobster drops a quarter in the jukebox. The keyboard intro of a classic power ballad fills the air and the quintessentially American arena rock band Journey croons, 'Don't stop believin' -- hold on to the feelin.' ''

Since The Sopranos faded to black before nearly 12 million viewers Sunday night, Steve Perry's phone has been ringing off the hook. The former lead singer for Journey says the congratulatory e-mails have been coming fast and furious.

''The end of the entire legacy of The Sopranos ended with your song,'' wrote one friend to Perry. ``What bigger honor is that?''

How about placing in the top 10 of all iTunes rock 'n' roll albums downloaded so far this week?

Wednesday's iTunes Store website had the album Journey's Greatest Hits ranked No. 4 in requests for the day. That put the group ahead of John Mayer's Continuum (No. 5), Paul McCartney's Memory Almost Full (No. 7) and albums by current chart toppers The Fray and Maroon 5.

I mean really... its just so damn nuts.... You love the fact that the GH are selling like crazy and DSB is being ituned... but then you look at what happened this week, it is just kinda funny, except that they f**** with a human being that saved Journey last year.

AGAIN. This happen in 2005 with the whole Sox thing, too, didn't it.
This song just won't go away! (not that it should, but you know what I mean)

Good for Steve!!!
Glad the song is doing well again, and that folks want to call him up and get his feelings about it.

Fuck the other two.

Perry screwed the others. Now the others are screwing others. You'd think SOMEBODY would get a good Karma lesson out of this thing...
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

For me, the huge point here is that people are calling and emailing Steve Perry. Not F or F even though one of the Fs went on the radio to try and garner a little recognition for himself for it. It's just like the White Sox called Steve and Charlize Theron contacted Steve. People who count contact Steve Perry, not F or F.

Perry didnt' screw me, so really, I don't give a rat's ass. I never believed there would be a tour with Perry, just because of the TBF release. Would I have bought tickets had they toured with him? Yep, most likely, but I didn't get my hopes up, I didn't buy a non-refundable ticket to a concert that didnt' happen, so technically, I didn't get screwed one bit.

Now Journey... Journey screwed me, when they hired a look-a-like and sound-a-like and that ended up lippin' at a so called LIVE concert. Perry is innocent from screwing me in any way. Journey on the other hand...
