Perry must be thinking...

Postby knox » Sat Jun 16, 2007 2:56 pm

" Now you all see what I saw all along. Was I a bastage? Sure. But you see what I had to deal with. This is freaking awesome! I knew they would never succeed without me, and so did Steve Smith."

At least that's what I would be thinking if I was Perry.

Too bad he and Rollie didn't get along. The Evolution/Departure lineup was my fave.

I would bet he's thinking its distasteful, disgraceful and embarrassing.

Perry was done with Journey long ago. I would bet ten dollars that he only wants Journey to be remembered with him in it, and wants anything after that to fail. I have read enough about his personality to push my opinion in the gloating direction.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it. I would never get in an internet fight over it. Just striking up conversation.

Steve is thinking - #@^%&$-there goes my 1/6 paycheck of their concert revenue or album purchases generated by new fans seeing Journey finally being viable with Jeff.

right, but he wouldn't want the band to be known for this kind of crap since the general public still thinks he's in it. He has some pride and I would bet he just wishes they wouldn't have gone on like he asked.... they dorked it up.

Knoxxy, I'm not fighting with you, just tossing around theories as well... :)

At this point, I think it's his cats.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Chump change to Perry, I'm sure. I bet he faired way better on the recent remasters and DVD. And knox.. I think you're right.. Perry is currently having the last laugh.

Journey lost their core fans. Only casuals remain. They're done.

I vote pride. If his wallet meant THE MOST to him, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
We'd be just getting home from a Journey show saying "Man, that fucking Perry can still rock!! $200 a ticket was worth it! He's how old? Shit, you're kidding me! And who's taking care of his cats?"

I don't know that he cares much about what is going on in the band currently, or seems unwilling to talk about it. When asked during that recent interview his remarks went along the lines of "What goes on in that band is none of my business". Given the way Journey is behaving at the moment, I wouldn't honestly begrudge Perry for not wanting anything to do with them anymore.

I don't think Steve Perry is laughing. He must be just as disgusted as we are, perhaps even more cuz he can certainly understand how an artist must feel when backstabbed.
He's disgusted alright, but I bet he's not surprised...After all,he knows what his ex-bandmates are capable of better than anyone.

Also,I believe he is shaking his had because of the shit that staines the Journey name. All that he fought for,all those remasters and DVDs that he has worked on in order to preserve the Name...

I was thinking that maybe he will try to do something to let's say distract the fans attention from this mess and try to clean up the Journey name.
How about a Mountain Aire ROR DVD to comfort the fans? :) And while at it,can we have the audio of that on a CD?

PLEASE.
