Okay lets be technical we we're talking Charting.
The GH is still on the Billboard Catalog charts.... so saying they'll never chart again is falsely stated. My bad.
Okay, when I say they will never chart again, I mean, Journey, whats left of it, will never have a album peak higher than 80 on Billboard's Hot 100, and a single... hell, forget that. They had the chance for it with JSS. Blown.
Considering the landscape of the industry, no label would pump the slightest amount of capital into an old dinosaur with a bunch of divas arguing over who is prettier. Not a snowballs chance in hell would they have a fair shot at enough marketing to the general audience to push enough units.
That being said, the only people who would know on their own about Journey having new material, and having the ability through word of mouth to do street level marketing, the core fan group, wouldn't.
Erego, Journey is dunzo. Bring on Billy Bob's Christmas Bazaar and Horse Show.
